Welcome. I am scheduled for June 11, so I will post how things are going with me, and you can see what it is like in my experience. There are tons of people here who have had their sleeves for from 6 months to 6 years - they will give you plenty of tips and encouragement. You may want to look through the forum and see what topics have already been discussed - what vitamins people recommend, how to survive the pre-op and post-op diets, getting enough water in - all of that and more. Mostly, just ask and know that you have found a great group who will support you in any way possible.

I am a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist but I have never practiced in the areas of bariatrics or weight loss. I am happy to offer ideas or tips, but please follow your own Nutritionist's advice - she is the expert in the area.

One major thing I can recommend if you plan on doing reconstruction wait for a year of maintaining your loss just like you would for a tummy tuck. Don't rush into the reconstruction just when you hit your goal cause any loss is bound to level out a bit. I got down to 98 pounds which was way too thin and my maintenance weight is between 108 and 114. I had a mess when I got the recon done then the healing didn't go well so I ended up taking them both out for a year and then doing the total recon of both.
