    Red face Considering the GS

Hi Everyone... my name is Dee & and in the pre-surgery stage for the sleeve. I have to pick up my sleep apnea machine this week then one more test b4 surgery. I'm excited but also nervous. I didn't have to go through all the insurance loops since I'm self paying. Any/all suggestions or feedback are welcome. I'm at 240lbs currently which is double my weight before birthing my 2 sons. I will be happy to loose 100lbs!!

I was self-pay too because my insurance had a strict no bariatric clause in it. I would check to see if your doctor offers "complication" insurance. If it's a Center of Excellence it should. I only say that because if your insurance won't pay for the sleeve, they also won't pay if you end up back in the hospital for any sort of complication, and I can't imagine being self pay for something like that.

I didn't get the insurance. They didn't offer it when I had the surgery, but they do now. I was blessed to have absolutely nothing go wrong.

Congrats on your decision, it's the best thing I have ever done for myself. Obese to regular sized = priceless.

I was self pay too but my insurance would have covered any complications. Thankfully none.

Best of luck to you on your journey!! I will also add that as long as you follow your medical team's advice you will do fine and you won't question your decision. I was told my surgery went so well because I followed all the rules during the pre-op process which in turn made my healing process after surgery go so well. Granted I am only just over a month post-op at this moment.

So far I have had no issues. I think you made a great decision and you will be very pleased once you begin your journey. Good luck!!!
