Default Always sick. sleeve to bypass

    Hi everyone
I had my sleeve converted to a bypass five years after the sleeve. I had that two and a half months ago. I am loosing weight but not as fast as I did after my initial sleeve. Granted I had far less to loose this time. My question is that I always seem to be feeling sick. Either nausea after eating or that tummy pain you get before loose bowel motions. If I don’t eat at all I probably feel better than if I try to eat something. I also vomit far easily now, that was always a real task before, now if something doesn’t agree with me it just comes straight up. Anyone experiencing this??

Sorry I just had the sleeve so don't know much about bypass. If you don't mind me asking why did you convert to a bypass? We're you having trouble w/ sleeve or just not enough weight loss from sleeve?

Hi, the sleeve worked great, best thing I ever did. I was probably hasty converting, I had gained 18kg with a pregnancy. I had a friend who had been 50kg heavier than me at my heaviest and had the bypass and weight just melted off her. I was still having to work really hard to shift weight I had regained. I had also developed severe depression which I thought was because of weight regain (I know now that is not the cause)
Had gastric sleeve in oct 2013 worked well started at 115kg, got down to 70kg.
Unplanned pregnancy gained 14kg but was happy with that
2017 a period of depression and anxiety had me on meds for 6 months and I was another 20kg heavier when I got off them.

March 2018 gastric bypass. Start weight 94kg

Wow, what a journey. You had some big life changes in the mix. Thank you for sharing. So sorry to hear that you are always sick. Is there a nurse at the clinic where you got surgery that you can email or call with questions? It sounds terrible to feel this way several months out of surgery. Hope it gets better soon.

Sorry you're feeling so yucky. I think we are all sleeve people here, so don't know much about the bypass. I agree, ask your doctor.

Maybe there's a site like this one for bypass folks who would probably know more.

My father had a bypass. There were foods he could not eat post op because they would make him throw up so he had to stop eating them altogether. Not saying that is necessarily the case with you. As for that icky feeling like before a loose stool....that is called dumping syndrome. Very common with the bypass. You will have to join a bypass site to get better information and more helpful tips.
