    Default 2 Weeks Post Surgery

Okay so my week 2 update is 25lbs down. I can’t believe it, I feel great too. I do have one question though, I started my vitamins last week and by process of elimination, I’ve determined it’s my multi putting me right in the bathroom. (And not to throw up) I also started puréed foods today and it’s had the same effect. With the multi, it’s not even 10 minutes and right through me. First meal today was baby food, chicken and broth and within the hour bathroom. Just tried egg whites and bathroom. Weird thing is I’m fine with the protein shakes, yogurt, ricotta cheese, no issues. Anyone else have this? Is this the norm while my stomach is adjusting? Sorry to be gross but I was definitely curious if anyone else had these issues.
    Thanks,
    Devin

Congrats on the weight loss. On the bathroom issue....I only had that happen twice when I first started eating. (My biggest issue was the opposite...constipation!! It was hard. Literally. LOL.) Some people's tummies are more sensitive than others. As for the multi...when I took the pill multi vitamin it made me queasy and throw up. I can only tolerate the gummy multi vitamins. Just keep a list of what sends you running to the bathroom. Then avoid it and try something else. Then try to reintroduce those foods that bother you now down the line. I was blessed because no foods really bothered me. Good luck.

Thank you. I’m going to try a liquid multi next, I’m not allowed gummies on my plan because of the sugar. I’ve got chewables now but the multi is the only one that bothers me. Vitamin D and my iron are fine. I’ll see what happens with the food too, hopefully my stomach will adjust soon.

I had issues with vitamins too - made me feel very queasy. Couldn't tolerate the chewable ones unless I crushed them and mixed them with a little protein shake. When I progressed to vitamin capsules I very quickly found out that taking them on an empty stomach was a very bad idea. Haven't had the toilet issues that you have had - I tend to go the other way and am still taking a stool softener daily. It's interesting how we have all gone through the same surgery but can have different issues afterwards. I have also found that there are some foods that I just can't tolerate at the moment. Fresh salmon being one of them (canned salmon and tuna are fine)....and it was my favourite fish. I might try and reintroduce it again at a later date but for the moment I just have white fish.
As Christie said perhaps avoid the problem foods for the moment and try them again a little later.
25lbs in 2 weeks is great. You are doing really well.

What is the brand of the gummy multi's you use? Do they have lots of sugar? I am 2 weeks out of surgery and I don't like the bariatric fusion chewables. If they were just once a day it might be okay but 4 times a day is yucky as I feel a bit queasy from them. I tried the chews as well but you have to have so many I think 6 a day. Thanks.

congrats on your progress so far. I'm 2 weeks post surgery as well and I go back and forth from constipation to the d word. For me I think it's all the sucralose that causes the d for me. Although the vitamins don't put me in the bathroom I don't like them as they do make me queasy. I am on Bariatric Fusion chewables 4 times a day. I liked the idea of them b/c they have the calcium and the biotin as well but I want to move to a different one. I'm going to inquire about other choices next appt. Hope you find one that you tolerate better. Good luck

Congrats! And yes everyone reacts differently, sometimes my vitamins still make me heave but only 3 episodes of diahorrea! Eliminate and keep trying, it will work itself out :-)
