    Exclamation Ch Ch Ch Changes

I shaved my head this morning. I am bald on top anyway and really don't like the poofy sides when it gets too long. I just needed a change and shaving it was just easy.

My wife does not like it. Everyone assumes the worst due to the rapid weight loss, she says that the bald(er) head only reinforces their assumptions.

I am down almost 70 lbs and down from 42 jeans to 36's. I was wearing 34's when I met my dear wife 30 years ago and that is coming again soon since the 36's are getting a bit loose already.

This has been an interesting trip so far and I am excited about where it is going. My endocrinologist was the one that recommended the surgery last January. He said, 1) I would lose 100 lbs, most of that in the first 6 months (definitely on track). 2) I would cure my diabetes (done). 3) I would add 15 years to my life (i hope he is right). He gave me a list of surgeons and told me to do some research. Best thing I have ever done for myself!

Well done with those nsv! I'm sure you look just fine shaved. She'll get use to it. Change isn't always a bad thing.

She is very happy with the weight loss and the diabetes cure. I have been bald on the top since the day we met so shaving the rest should not be this big of a deal.

Well done! Similar numbers here and I could still lose more if I wanted too! I also got rid of my type 2 diabetes as well as high blood pressure and severe sleep apnea!

Awesome job and keep working it. You'll be down in onederland before you know it!

    Glenn,

About the sleep apnea. I have that as well and am hoping for a cure. How did you know when that was cured? Could you just tell a difference? How long did that take in the process?

    Thanks!

I had to stop wearing my CPAP about 2 months after surgery (mask no longer fit my face). My wife commented that I no longer snored when I stopped wearing it. I went and saw the Dr about it about 2 - 3 months later and long story short, I no longer have sleep apnea. It was totally caused by my obesity. I sleep great now! Crazy vivid dreams and no more space mask!

Hey Chris. Is the balding from the surgery or just it was on it's way already? If it is surgery related, it will eventually fill back in. If it is just standard male pattern baldness....embrace it. My hubby has to shave his head due to MPB. I like it. I am sure it is just an adjustment for your wife. I am sure she will get used to it. When I first reconnected with my hubby (we were HS sweethearts) it was an adjustment for me but I got used to it. Congrats on all your success.
PS-Sometimes spouses have a hard time dealing with our weight loss. It is hard to see someone you love change and then they can feel a bit insecure as their mate loses weight and becomes more attractive. And while we can look a bit sick during the rapid weight loss phase it will all work itself out and we start looking healthy again.

Male pattern baldness for sure. She has never known me with hair. Her concern is the nosey people who have asked me about "being sick" when they have seen the massive we eight loss. She is right in that when the see the totally bald head they will assume chemotherapy.

Those are not my real friends anyway. We are all good here. I am excited and my wife is very supportive.

A bald head is what attracted me to my partner....his of course ;-)
Glad that you have a supportive wife. It makes this all so much easier when we have the people we love on our team.
Good news on the improved health. I love hearing stories like yours.

Bald is sexy! I think it looks much better than a little side of hair. Congrats on your amazing weight loss!
