    Default I've been Sleeved!

Monday, May7 was my surgery. It went very well; surgeon called it 'textbook' and was proud of the sleeve he made! I've been feeling really good most of the time. Was pretty groggy and out of it most of Monday, but the lovely nurses kept me up most of the night taking vitals, walking me and sip, sip, sipping water. Thankful to have come home yesterday afternoon so I can get my routine happening at home. And I got an excellent night sleep; only interruptions were to take my pain meds and pee.

The worst pain I have is actually a pretty constant ache at my left/top ribcage. Both the surgeon and PA agree that it is from the trocar (robot arm) that likely bruised the muscle.....a few days and it should subside.

I'm not hungry even though the last I ate anything solid was 6 pm Sunday. The water is keeping me full and except for one dose of liquid meds that I drank too quickly everything is staying down nicely.

plan today is to rest a bit more this morning...the forecast is cloudy/rainy but if I spot some sunshine I am getting out in it!

HI Lisa, I am 4 weeks out of surgery. You are doing brilliantly. The main thing is keeping hydrated.

I'm so grateful for people like you, who are documenting your surgery ups and downs. I have jumped through all of the hoops that my insurance company has stipulated and they said that I should have my approval by the end of the week. I am hoping for a smooth recovery for you and look forward to your future posts.

Hello. The worst part is over. Now you just have to concentrate on your recovery. As everyone says, sip water and walk as much as you can.

I slept a lot that whole first week. Sipped and walked when I wasn't sleeping. Glad to hear you're doing well!

You're not just drinking water are you? Getting in some protein shakes I hope!

My program introduces protein drinks at week two. I'm doing water, propel zero, vitamin water zero, sugar free jello, made some popsicles and ice cubes with stevia sweetened drink mix and am really enjoying hot cups of broth.
So far tolerating it all nicely!

Congrats on your new sleeve!! The best is yet to come. Take it easy this week and rest. Let your body heal. Just remember to keep sipping and walk around a bit. (Not necessarily exercise walking.) I took a lot of catnaps the first week. The most important focus is to stay hydrated right now. Wishing you a continued speedy recovery.

I'm so confused!!! How did you go from 310 to 258 since May 7? Sounds like a miracle. That is 50 pounds>?????

I have an appointment with the doctor for the first visit next Monday. So this is all news to me.

    I appreciate your response.
