Hi all! I was supposed to have posted pictures from the 5k Foam Glow Run I went to in April, but haven't gotten to it until now. 13 months since surgery but 16 months since it all began (3 month pre op diet included).
The 'run" was not a run as it turned out. There was NO way one could run in the dark, in the desert, at this fun event. You would be asking to break a leg; or neck; or worse. I (and the girls I went with) ended up walking the miles and did it with ease- and in quick time too. The reward was getting blasted at high power by neon colored foam and LOUD party music. It was the most fun I have had in a LONG time. (I may be 60, but I'm not dead yet.)
I dropped 102 pounds by the time I was 6 months out from surgery and have done relatively well. I exercise and still attend Zumba 4 days a week and even began jogging last fall and my appetite increased and I built some muscle. My scale went up a little bit but I haven't panicked. One thing I have noticed- - and I am not sure why - - but I can drop pounds so much faster NOW than all the decades I spent pre surgery trying to lose weight. Weird. Anyway, with summer fast approaching (it's in the 90's here already in Las Vegas), it's time to buckle down and drop a few pounds for the bathing suit season. Don't get me wrong... it's not a cake walk, but it's a helluva lot better than my life BEFORE the surgery.
(Pictures are going to be added to another photo album.)
