    Default Frosting

We had a puppy shower over the weekend for a friend who just got a new puppy. There were some delicious looking cupcakes there, and I thought "I'm on mushy foods, I can just have a taste of the frosting". I'm glad I did because I tell you, that was the nastiest stuff!! Everyone else said it tasted wonderful, but to me it tasted like machine oil! LOL.....never thought I'd see the day!

It's funny how our tastes change isn't it?! Things I thought delicious before surgery have no appeal at all to me now. Yay!!!!

I had the worst sweet tooth before surgery. My eyes still see sweets and want them, but even a little taste of sugar upsets my stomach now. It's just not worth it. One of the best things that has happened.

Hahaha. For me it was diet dr. pepper. I was addicted to that crap. I tasted some about 3 months post op and thought is was the most disgusting thing I have ever tasted. I literally wanted to wretch. Haven't touched it since. LOL.

I would love a puppy shower. I have a candy bowl for anyone that wants a piece AND I also have a container full of dog bones because I LOVE when dogs come into my office. Most are service dogs, but so far everyone lets me play with them.

I hope I have a similar reaction to sweets. I'm worried I am going to get bored because I don't like seafood or fresh water fish. I've tried all of it and I just can't eat it. Maybe that will change after surgery too. Shock everyone I know if I ate anything that swims. LOL!

I'm so glad that our taste buds change after the surgery.
So many things upset my stomach now that I take time deciding what to eat. Never did that before.
It was first in best dressed. I was a garbage machine, now it's good food in small amounts.
Can't drink my apple cider anymore, which I loved.

I have never heard of a puppy shower, but I am intrigued! I could definitely have some fun with that!

Congrats, it's great that the sugar was too sweet for you. I quit smoking a while ago, and was out with a friend one day who was smoking. It smelled so good, so I asked him for one. Yuck, it was AWFUL. Wasn't my brand, but even so it was so gross, I didn't even finish half of it and I've been pretty content not smoking since then.

When I was younger, I went through a period when I was drinking way way too excessively. Every night, for hours, lots of drinks. Then, one morning, I just woke up and wasn't interested. I've been hoping that would happen with food that's bad for me, too...it would be so lucky and awesome. No such luck yet.

Have you noticed any other drastic taste changes like that?

Well,I've never heard of a puppy shower until my friend suggested we do one for our mutual friend. It was so much fun. We did a twist on the "guess the candy bar in the diaper" game with "guess the candy bar on the puppy poop pad" game. Everyone got to hold and love on the puppy, it was great

Dr Pepper was my favorite too. I think I'll skip trying that and just accept your description

I'm not a fan of fish either. Tonight my husband made some cod, I pureed it up in the food processor, and promptly decided that i still don't like fish LOL

Oh that just sounds awful! I'm going to have a hard time with soft and pureed. I like texture in my food.

Sadly, for me, I still love any and all foods. Absolutely nothing bothers my stomach and everything tastes oh, so good. I still have a belly like a billy goat! On the up side, I have much more self control now, it's easier to stay on track if I follow the dietary "rules", and of course my billy goat stomach won't hold nearly as much as it used to.
