    Default Failed

I had sleeve surgery 2 years ago, started out good.....but family kept tons of sweets in house and fell off wagon.....
I’m one that if I do something wrong, I beat myself up for it and quit.....it’s a mind thing.....I know....
I also felt bad about me having surgery and loosing. And my daughter aa bit bigger than me, and needing to lose weight...but not being able too...I felt guilty.....sounds crazy I know....she was 14 at the time......but this year, she’s turned things around, and has lost some weight
And really has been firming up her stomach, I’m proud of her...

How can you tell if. You have stretched your stomach out again...

I know after surgery, I could only eat one or two bites of fruits or salads, not much on veggies either.
Noodles aren’t great either.....I still don’t drink ANY carbonated drinks, just flavored water and some times,, a fruit juice,
Still don’t eat. Bread.....can eat a good bit of. Protein.........
And it’s still. The same now....
    I. Still dont believe that I haven’t went back. To my cokes and bread...

Can. I still have success as I did when iii got out of the hospital.
But it was pretty slow.....and I only lost a few pounds, have gained ten of those few back..
I’m 53 yrs and 5’5, and My highest weight was 235.....
Oh well just thought I would just throw this out there
    Thanks

My doctor says you can't stretch your stomach, but it's true that as the years go by you can eat more, but never in the quantities you used to. So you will never go back to that feeling full after two bites again, but you can go back to a healthy lifestyle.

I think if you start today going back to how we were taught to eat, protein first, then veggies, then a few good carbs if room, you will start losing again. Don't drink with meals. Take your vitamins. Exercise. And get the crap out of the house. Your family can eat that somewhere else. I'm lucky my husband doesn't eat junk, so there's none of it here. If there was, I have no willpower and would probably eat it. (And he works for a chocolate company!!)

Good luck, you can do this if you want to. Start with 2 eggs for breakfast!

Try the pouch reset. We don't have a pouch but a sleeve but it is the same concept of going back to basics. If you really want this you can lose the weight. My father had bypass in 89. Over the years he had gained back about 80 lbs. He has lost it all again after my mom died (and he had to look good again to find a mate). He did it by going back to basics and exercising. If you REALLY want this you will do it. And think of what a good role model you will be to your daughter.

Welcome! You can do this! When I started my journey I my surgeon told me that the requirement for losing weight before surgery is 1) to show I could lose weight and 2) so if I do gain weight I would know what to do when I did. Go back to basics! If you aren't exercising start. Focus on protien. I know it is hard but try to see if you can get the sweets out of the house or have your family hide them from you if they insist on keeping them in the house.

No, you did not fail, you temporarely lost your way.
But you do know how to find it back.
So, go and do just that.

But here's my thing: live goes on around us, even when we had wls.
People will still eat their things around us, in the house or elsewhere.
There will be sweets and other stuff in the house.
Just as there will be collegues at work with a box of chocolate on their desks.
Just as there will be stores with those tiny little chocolate easter eggs at the check out with easter.
Just as restaurants will keep jars with peppermints at their counters....
    You get the picture.

But: it is still YOUR choice.
You are the one putting it in your mouth.
No one is force feeding you.
    So stop it!
You can see it, register it and walk past it.
    Really.
    You can do that.
Do NOT put it in your mouth.
    That's it...

    Life is full of challenges.
Embrace them... and learn to deal with them.
English is not my first language anymore, so I may and do make mistakes in my spelling, or say things oddly. Please ask me, if you want any clarifications.
