    Default 6 Days Post Surgery

Doing way better today. Still pretty tired and sore in the stomach area. Doing my best to get my protein in everyday. So far I am down 13 pounds since surgery! Have two more weeks of liquid diet but I seem to be handling this part ok for now. Although once it’s time to feed my kids I do wish for a couple minutes I could join them for dinner. That’s ok I can handle waiting a little bit longer to eat foods.

well done, you are doing great. I have another 2 weeks on liquids and although I am not hungry and don't desire anything, i do wish i could have a bite of something instead of just liquids. Keep going.

Keep up the great work, overtime it gets easier! I know the feeling of waiting a bite of something. I remember being a my son's track meet and saw all the parents eating on something, I just wanted to go slap it out of their hands! lol

I was on liquids for two weeks, then on to soft foods. Odd how every doctor is different.

Sounds like you're off to a great start! I had it easier as the kids were gone, so I didn't have to worry about cooking for anyone. (Hubby was on his own.)

Good luck and have fun. You are on your way to being a healthy regular-sized person!

It IS quite an adjustment but it does get better and easier. You are doing great! I just kept reminding myself of the reason I did the surgery and focused on the goal not the food. This site has so many wonderful people on it and a great source of support. It helped me a lot when I was struggling plus I've learned so much from those who have more experience. Keep up the good work!

I was clear liquids a week, liquids 2 weeks, soft (smush) for 2 weeks, and gradually added "real" things back about 4.5 weeks. Kinda let my body decide.

Glad to hear you are doing better Olivia. Yeah, the liquid part is the hardest because you just want to eat. It is totally mental. Once you start on soft and you realize how little you actually can eat it is crazy. Two small bites and you are full. Before you know it you will be able to eat with your family. Just super tiny amounts. LOL.
