Red face End of week two

I feel great! I called my boss this morning and told her I would be in tomorrow, she and everyone else are like, are you sure? Yes I am I walked on the treadmill for 30 minutes this morning, have been out shopping almost daily and feel generally back to normal since Tuesday. I admit fatigue was getting to me last week but that was from anesthesia most likely. I have had no pain, never took narcotics, haven't taken any Tylenol in a week and my incisions are well healed. I seem to be a quick healer. I have been getting head hunger a lot especially watching commercials, and the smell of food hasn't changed for me, still smell so darn good and appetizing. The head hunger is so interesting to me. I can be very full and see an ad on TV and think that it LOOKS SO GOOD. Its the strangest thing! I've read a good book on the psychology of food while recovering, need all the help I can get because I know what my issues are. I really do know the difference between head and stomach hunger, I get the same hungry stomach signal I've always had when its time to put something in there albeit only a couple of tablespoons and this happens every 3-4 hours like a baby. Melted cheese in cream soups have been awesome as well as cream of rice with protein drink poured on. I really like the refried beans and melted cheese too. I am excited to start soft foods next Monday and eat some chicken salad and ground turkey with gravy which will make my taste buds happy, those have not changed at all. I thought they might, but they haven't. This journey has been good to me so far, I cant wait to see what's next

    Well done.
Make sure you still take it easy and look after yourself.
I returned to work after two weeks and was fine - I have a desk job.
I know what you mean about "head hunger". Now though even when presented with something in front of me that is not so good for me I really don't fancy eating it. Being able to only eat small amounts of food it now needs to be the most nutritious.
    Keep up the good work.

I returned to work after a week and was fine. I was tired by the time I got home and ate but had no issues. As for creamed soups...they were what got me by in the beginning. In the beginning the stomach acid can make you think you feel hungry. I know once I started on solids I could eat very little. Much less than I could of soft foods.

Woohoo! What a great post this morning! But listen to you body when it says rest. Fatigue is sneaky! I'm retired, so no real deman ds on my timing that weren't self imposed, and so it was pretty easy.
