Default still in the thinking stage

Hello everyone, I am a 69 year old female still thinking about the gastric sleeve. I went to a seminar and the Dr said my age was not a factor. Right now I'm just thinking about how my life will change and pro vs cons. It doesn't help that I'm a nurse and know too much. Sometimes that's a hinderance, but I know I need to change my eating habits and get my b/p down as well as cholesterol.

    Welcome.
There are lots of wonderful people on this forum who are very willing to share their experiences and thoughts.
Personally I am 55 years old and am 7 months out. It is the best thing that I have ever done for myself. I wish I'd had the finances to be able to do it years ago.
    Good luck with your decision.

Being a nurse you know it will give you more years of life than if you don't do anything. But I understand its a big decision. I don't regret a second :-)

I was sleeved at age 68. I'm 72 now. My life is multiples BETTER than it ever could have or would have been had I not had WLS and taken full advantage of all that it offered me.

The surgery alone won't "fix" you. Just understand that. After surgery you have to want to change your lifestyle permanently. If you're up for that, then hang around.

    Best wishes to you.

Completely life changing. Very low complication rates. And almost every person who does experience complications says they would still do it all over again. But at the end of the day, only you can make this decision. Just read up as much as you can. Good luck on making your decision.

Welcome! I had my sleeve 6 months ago, at 65 1/2. Today I weigh 71 lbs less. My cholesterol is perfect. My BP, Type II diabetes, etc., are perfect. My blood levels are perfect. Best decision I have made in so many years.

Go for it! And yes, I have made a lifetime commitment, as Ann, and others have said.

Happy with my weight; happy with my size; over-the-moon with my health!
