Excessive belching/burping

Hi all,
I am almost a year post-op and I have some weird burping issues going on... LOL
I've been belching almost all day, non-stop and it's really annoying and makes me feel yucky. It's not a normal type of burp either, it's like those ones where you feel like you are going to throw up if you burp again; and they are almost like a reflex, and I can't control it. Nothing comes up, so it's a dry burp, if that makes sense. I have been experiencing these symptoms for about a week now, and I'm beginning to get a bit worried. I have a follow-up appointment with my doctor next Wednesday, so I can probably wait until then, but I figured I'd ask on here for suggestions.
I'm thinking this burping may be caused by reflux/indigestion. I have struggled with horrible heartburn/reflux issues both before and after surgery, but they have been pretty well controlled with my diet and prescription meds. I also take Tums from time to time for breakthrough heartburn. But they are not helping with this burping, nothing seems to help! Drinking water doesn't help, heartburn/anti-gas meds don't help, eating and not eating don't seem to have much of an effect either. Sometimes eating makes it worse though.
Is this something I should be worried about? Can anyone offer any suggestions on things to try that may help in the meantime?

This sounds like reflux, I got those kinds of burps before my 2 week liquid diet as well. Nasty, I tell ya! I would bring it up to your doctor still they know better than all of us

It does sound odd after a year, I would talk to my surgeon. (In the beginning my stomach talked all the time!)

I would check to make sure you do not have a hiatal hernia. You may need an endoscopy to see what is going on. So it is just this past week?
