Wow!
That's AWESOME !!!! Great job, I am getting close to surgery, no date yet, getting rid of some bacteria in my tummy first, that should be the last thing. Then submit to insurance, This has been a journey already. I started hearing about this surgery in Nov. 2017. Started researching and joined several groups so I could ask REAL questions. Not sure if there is a lot of failures out there and they just don't post, but..... I am having people tell me don't do it. Guess I am second guessing myself because I started out gun ho like everything else. Been losing but slowed. Got a fit bit joined the gym, drinking lots of water and following all the steps. But...... since Easter and chocolate ,I have slipped, its like my body is craving the sugar again. I love to eat, snack and eat and drink......wondering will I be able to keep this up... part of me things well you might as well enjoy it now while you can. HELP
Hi Teresa!
First and foremost you have to do what is right for YOU! For me the sleeve was the right choice. I lost 51 pounds on my own before surgery. Was I perfect during that time? HELL NO! Am I perfect now? Same answer. The thing is to do your very best to change your way of dealing with food. You fall down just get back up!
One of my dearest friends told me I didn't need the surgery because I was losing on my own. She didn't understand that the surgery wasn't just for losing the weight but to help me keep it off. She told me that she knew people who had it done gained all the weight back plus and it was just a waste. So i asked her how they eat. Her response was EXACTLY why they failed. The went back to eating all the same foods that got them there in the first place. This is just a tool and you have to follow the rules. Those that do succeed.
If I can do this you totally can! Best wishes!
