    Default Job performance after sleeve

This may be a bit of an odd question for Sleevers..... but....how has the surgery impacted your job performance?

I'm wondering if it has a positive impact due to increased energy and self-image......or.....does it negatively impact ones concentration and ability to handle stress? What has been your experience?

    Thanks!

For me I didn't have a job before surgery because of back pain and just being in poor health. I'm coming up on 11 months out and I now have a job. The surgery has been nothing short of a miracle in my life. All good things for me!

I'm with Cody -- I was on disability for multiple chronic health issues that left me with 24/7 angina that was uncontrollable, strokes, diabetes, neuropathy and etc. And as I approach 66, I finally feel good again. I wish I had known about the health impact of the sleeve years ago!

I have more energy, more stamina, and almost no angina now. So I'm guessing your work would be positively impacted. I am, however, grateful that I had no set hours to "re learn" eating the last 6 months. My stomach has always been a place of stress and small meals and changes often leave my sort of icky!

I'm thinking, since my kids are all grown and work and prep their lunches on Sundays, that being prepared to have what you need with you would be of great help! "Bento boxes" abound!

It did not affect my job performance. I did get a promotion 14 months after the sleeve but I was on track for that as I had been promoted 4 months prior to the sleeve as well. As for concentration and what not, I had no issues and I am in a job that requires a lot of critical thinking and is in a highly regulated compliance industry. I cannot say that it has impacted me neither positively or negatively.

The sleeve didn't have an impact on my work performance...but weight loss has altered other aspects of my interpersonal skills at the workplace. I am less tolerant of other peoples' bad behavior and verbal quips these days.

I used to be a nonconfrontational people-pleaser who took things as they came when I was overweight. I ignored many slights and insults. Perhaps I subconsciously perceived I was deserving of less when I was fat.

Nowadays I'm more upfront and will openly challenge any hint of mistreatment or condescending attitudes directed toward me.

I have so much more energy and I think I'm more positive in general. Also, I have to travel internationally and was becoming more reluctant because travel was such an ordeal. I'm down 50lbs and travel is so much easier. So I'm guessing people would rather work with me now than before.

Not at all, except getting used to all the compliments as the weight fell off so quickly.

And very early on people noticed how little I was eating, but who cares.
