I am 18 days pre-surgery of gastric sleeve and 4 days away to start my liquid diet.
I am excited but scare. My only concern is if I have stomach pain after surgery.
would love to hear others journey
It is completely understandable to be nervous. You are making a conscious decision to change your lifestyle. I personally had little to no pain. I stopped the pain meds a couple af days after surgery. If anything I experienced soreness. However, if you do have pain that your prescribed medicines cannot take care of, contact your doctor. You will be great!

I didn't have any that regular tylenol wouldn't handle. My surgeon routine gives a pre op shot of Lyrica, which blocks nerve pain. I didn't have gas, and no particular incision soreness.
I refused pain meds even in the hospital and only took extra strength Tylenol. My surgeon did an internal pain blocker (many surgeons do this) that lasted a couple days. I really had no pain. The only issue I had was when I got up and down and I would hug a pillow to my stomach to keep the muscles from engaging. Your incisions are less than 1" long. Laparoscopic surgery is so minimally invasive it's amazing. My pain from a C-section was so much more than this surgery.
Understandable to be nervous. The Sleeve was the best decision I ever made and one of the easiest surgeries I ever had. I had soreness the first week and by the second week I was walking 5-7miles a day. I never took narcotic pain meds or needed it. Happy to Anwser any questions. Your about to go on an amazing journey. 7B0F188D-82B3-403F-92F6-4148FC8FA0F7.jpeg

Annie!
OMG, you look amazing, a complete different woman!
I love your hair!
It is natural to have concerns before surgery. I will tell you this is the best decision I ever made. I had no pain whatsoever after surgery I was tired but NO pain. I actually was pleasantly surprised that even at home I didn't need any pain relief. I know it is different for each of us , I did some guided meditation about easy and fast recovery. Good luck with your surgery Best advise I got was approach this at all times with a can do attitude!
