We went out to brunch today and I ordered a frittata, hoping to get my protein from the eggs. But they also gave me a lovely arugula salad. I love arugula. It was one of my favorite pre-sleeve foods (although obviously I ate my fair share of other foods). I have been testing my stomach to see if it could handle arugula and today I took a bite, waited, and was fine. So I took another bite. And another. The dressing was a light lemon--I was in heaven. BUT, after eating half of the salad I was full. Ate a bite of frittata and the hiccups started. By then my husband had eaten the entire bread basket, his eggs benedict and a side of potatoes.(No, he's not overweight. Makes me crazy.) I managed a second bite of the frittata and asked for the take out box.
So instead of eating my way thru a chocolate bunny or two and any other sweets I could grab (my typical Easter routine) I indulged myself in an arugula salad and it was so delicious. Yes, I'll have to work on getting enough protein in today. But I am just so thrilled to not be feeling that horrible sick but still hungry feeling I used to have on this and many holidays. Hallelujah! (in the spirit of Easter).
