Default My 1 year Surgiversary! Already!

    Hi all,
I just posted to the Blog section and uploaded a slideshow of my last year! (In case you would like to take a look).

Everyone on here helped me immensely through the 3 month pre-op diet I was on, and the surgery, recovery, and cheering on, afterwards. I thank you all!

I still have nightmares that I will wake up and have rolls of fat along my body. I wake up and realize "Not anymore." The sleeve is a tool and some people think you just get sleeved, and Ba-boom! Instant weight loss; but for me, being active has made the inches go away. I am not an athletic type of gal... never have been. But Zumba has been the thing for me! In addition to walking and some jogging, my zumba classes have kept me in shape. I was ill for a couple weeks a few months ago and could not go to the gym. I really felt it when I went back!

So at this one year mark (as of yesterday), I am happy and healthy and feel GOOD about myself. I have a friend who just had her plastic(s) surgery (arms, abdomen and breast augmentation) a few days ago (she had the sleeve surgery 2 months before me) which she needed to have the skin removed from her abdomen area; and I can luckily say I don't need that done on me. I will never look like I did in my 20s, but I am OK with that part of my body (my bat wing arms on the other hand though...)

    Height: 5'8"
    Highest Weight: 270 BMI 40.3
Day of Surgery Weight: 223 / Pre-Op nutrition diet: LOST 47 pounds
1 Month Weight: 202 (-21 lbs.) TOTAL LOST: 64 pounds
2 Month: Weight: 188 (-14 lbs.) TOTAL LOST: 78 pounds
    6 Month Weight: 169 (-2) BMI: 25.7 TOTAL LOST: 97 pounds

Congrats Lori! Glad you are doing so well! So very happy for you. I am thinking the only plastics I would like is a breast augmentation....and maybe a butt lift. LOL. Happy sleeviversary Lori!

In a little over 2 weeks, I will be doing my first 5k marathon. (I was supposed to have done one in January, but jacked up my hip pretty bad just before that run, while doing things at the gym with my sister that I SHOULD NOT have been doing... live and learn!). I am back to normal now and look forward to the run!

5k runs are a lot of fun! You see all kinds of people and there is usually tons of support from people both on and watching the course. Have fun, run fast! Your first 5k is always a PR (personal record) both from a time and emotional victory standpoint.

Good luck, you’re going to kill it!

What Glenn said. Races are so fun. One day I would love to do a turkey trot, they sound like too much fun :-)

This run is the Las Vegas FOAM GLOW! It's set for the evening with loud music, glow sticks and glow-in-the-dark tshirts, etc.... and you get sprayed from cannons with neon colored foam at the end (?) of the race.... or throughout... not quite sure. Looks like a MESSY time for sure! What did I get myself into?? Ha Ha.

I did a foam glow 5k in Portland Oregon last year. It was fun..... you run or walk through archways that oozes foam. The only part that sucked was everyone would jam up at the foam stations waiting to get foamed. You'll have a blast!
