    Default Lumps and acid

Hi everyone - I'm coming towards the end of week 5 post sleeve op and I'm feeling fantastic... other than the fact that I often have a lump-like feeling in my throat and just this week I have developed heartburn/acid (which makes me burp a lot).

I have been taking Zantac and liquid indigestion relief - all to no avail.

Has anyone else experienced this?? If so - how did you deal with it.

How to deal with this is to TALK TO YOUR SURGEON! It could be due to any number of things -- what' you're eating, how and when you're eating, finding the right antacid prescription for YOU, whether you have a hiatal hernia (and if so how big / what shape it is), etc.

This isn't an uncommon problem immediately post-op. Again, the right thing to do is call your surgeon and ask for a consultation.

    Consult: 235 lbs
My and doc's preop diet: 216 -19 lbs
    M1 postop 205 -30

All that Ann said. Best to speak with your surgeon or PCP. A lot of people need prescription antacids for a while post op. As for the lump feeling in your throat, it could be nothing but it could also be something. I have seen that go both ways. Please talk to your doctor.

My doctor gave me a prescription for acid reflux for the first 30 days after surgery. I took it as told. After the 30 days I was fine without it. Talk to your surgeon.
