4 Month Post Op

Wow, can not believe it has been four months since my life was changed!! Down 123 lbs from my highest recorded weight. I can not explain how much better I feel. Had my annual physical and lost a couple medications and my Cholesterol was 86. Can it be too low??? I have a horrible family history and my Cholesterol had crept up to the 220 range so I have been on a dose to keep it in check and it had been, but now that I have lost weight, the number has plummeted. My Doc did cut the dose in half, but still wanted me to stay on the small dose given family history. No worries there. All my other blood levels were right down the middle.

Just wanted to share how great this journey has been and would encourage anyone to join us sleever's and find out what all the fuss is about. Thanks to everyone for their thoughts/perspectives on this site.

Congratulations on all your scale and non-scale victories. Those are awesome!

And no, your cholesterol is not "too low." Your doctor must be over the moon about your numbers.

Last fall (at 3 years post-op) my "bad cholesterol" (LDL) was 72, and my "good cholesterol" (HDL) was 71.

My doctor said, "The bad news is you're going to die. The good news is you won't die from heart disease."

Aren't we lucky we were able to have WLS?!

Way to go Hookydad! That is awesome. I am still on a small dose of BP medications. It is half of what I used to take. I was off for about 6 months but my BP is still slightly elevated so my PCP says it is better to stay on medications to avoid stroke. He says it is obviously just genetic bc I am at a healthy BMI, I exercise, and I eat right. I was sad when I had to go back on but I want to enjoy my new healthy life so I am not complaining.

I'm a bit past 5 months, and my health hasn't been this good in many years (well I'm old as dirt at 65). But energy and good numbers!

Keep it up! Excited to see how the journey continues.
