Surgery date!

Morning, all!

My surgery has just been scheduled for April 18th! I've never been so ready or excited for anything in my entire life, and I cannot wait to share this journey with everyone.

I still have to make the decision on whether or not it will be bypass or sleeve. At this point, I am leaning bypass because the reflux I get is sometimes so unbearable I could die. I hope you all still welcome me here

Choose whatever sounds best to you and your doctor; if you have a gastro besides your bariatric person, you probably will check with him as well.

That's fantastic news, your doctor will be the person to advise you on which surgery to have. I am 3 weeks in after having a gastric sleeve. I have lost 24lb and it feels great. Good luck with your surgery and let us know how you get on.

Yayyyy good news! Not long now! I know that my surgeon suggests gastric bypass to people with reflux because he has done a few revisions to bypass after sleeve where people have had problems. So thats his take on it. See what your doc suggests. I know a few people now that had bypass because they were of a very high BMI with a lot of co-morbidities so had it for that reason too. All doing extremely well.

Congrats on having a surgery date. You will make the decision on what is right for you. You will still be welcomed here if you have bypass but what you will go through will be different than a sleeved person. Different procedures and different after care.

Taking a spoonful of Braggs apple cider vinegar a few times a day and then rinsing my teeth with water cured my reflux. It took about a month and then it was gone and still hasn't returned. Best of luck in whichever direction you go!!
