Have a Colonoscopy! The only fun part of the whole thing was standing on the hospital scale and seeing a number I hadn't seen since high school. The other fun part was the 3 1/2 hour nap I took when I got home. The rest - no fun.

I'm having one tomorrow - thanks for the tip!
I remember the first time I had one. I wondered why you couldn't eat solid food for a day and a half before the procedure. About 20 minutes after the first round of the prep package, I figured it out. Fortunately, I did follow the rules in advance.
I'm so glad you posted this. My first question in pre-op visits was.......How can we drink all the prep bottle with a pouch???? they said it would be no problem. So.....if we are sipping, how long does it take to down that thing???

I had to drink 64 ounces of gatorade mixed with an entire container of Mirolax! The instructions were to start drinking at 4 pm, but when I told them about my surgery they said to start earlier. I'm over 4 years out, so it was totally possible. But if you are not far out from surgery I would put off the colonoscopy. When I mixed it all up it was a whole pitcher of liquid.

I had a fecal transplant 4 months post VSG, which basically required the same prep as a colonoscopy. I couldn't even come close to drinking the entire prep solution. Took me almost an hour to get down about 1/2 of the 32 ounces. By then it was "working" and I barely made it home to the safety of my bathroom. Had to repeat it the next morning, and again, only took 1/2 of it before it finished cleaning me out.
Lol! Prep is yuck. I had one last year because of a random concern but everything was fine. The procedure was a breeze. So worth doing folks, it can save your life. My colleague found she had anal cancer from a random screening 2 years ago. She is doing very well.
Sad to say the 5 pounds came back after I started eating/drinking again. Bummer.
Actually I feel so much better! For two days every bone in my body ached, felt like it was the start of dehydration. Feel great again, back to 5:30 am body pump this morning. Fluids are obviously important for energy.
