My hair stylist has had Gastric Sleeve surgery and she shared with me that she recommends hair extensions. Not sure if this is an option for you but may be worth looking into. Best of luck to you and your family on the wedding. I'm sure you will be glowing from happiness and beautiful!
I'm nearly 3.5 years out and I just noticed when washing my hair 2 days ago that it has finally stopped falling out. Only problem now is that my stylist destroyed the shit out of it when I went for a new color as a gift to myself for my 3 year surgiversary. I'll never win this hair battle.
No pre-op diet

What I have found that helps conceal (not stop) the hair loss. Toppix fix hair fibers, which comes in colors to match your scalp/roots/hair, available at Sally's. A very far over side part (not quite as far as the presidents, lol). A bit of gentle backcombing and 80's hair spray. OBX volumizing shampoo, conditioners, etc. And a big smile and bright ear bobs (earrings if you're up north). <3
Loren2, I looked it up.
My averages were:
75-80 g protein the first 3 months
800-850 calories
56 oz water
22 g fat
balance in dense carbs
I was not good about the vitamins; I had them, but they made me so nauseous that I was not as compliant as I should have been; still struggle. So try very hard to eat nutrient dense foods. Without the B vitamins in grains, I think its hard on the hair
I went through 2 rounds of pretty heavy hair loss over the year since my sleeve. My pony tail used to be 2 inches thick. Now it is as thin as my pinky :-(
However, I do have a ton of new growth coming in right now.
I didn't do supplements, my dr isn't really sold on them. Plus I didn't want to end up growing hair in other places, lol. My dr assured me, I wouldn't go bald and i would have regrowth. Also helps that he always tells me my hair looks great hahaha.
I realize some of my loss is due to aging (66 in May), but I had to have a 2nd surgery the same day as my bariatric due to complications. So double anesthesia. And stress of extra hospital, etc. But this too will go back to normal. Hoping the stylist can work a miracle and make it look like I meant it to be this way, lol!
I had a knee replacement 3 mos before my sleeve. After asking you the question about your protein intake, I went to my food log and checked mine. Not good. I'm 2 1/2 mos. post sleeve and I only had 11 days that I consumed 80g of protein. About 11 days of about 70g. I'm going to add a protein drink.
I don't know if this will help you but all my vitamins are in liquid form except D. I mix them all in my daily water quota. They taste good and it spreads them out throughout the day. My multi is "Life Source" , "Now" vit. C grandules, and "Naturalist" B complex. At night a spoon full of "Solgar" Calcium/Magnesium
