Good morning!
I had my sleeve done Thursday. Everything is going pretty well. I have just been making sure to get my fluids in and walking. How long until I start to feel some what normal again? Hope everyoone is doing well.
Hopefully you will feel better than "normal". It took me about 10 days to get over being tired; that said, I had a 2nd surgery for bleeding the same day as sleeve, so was in hospital 4 days. And I'm old (65). But at 2 weeks, felt good. At 5 months -- over the moon feeling good and lots of energy.
Just keep on with what you're doing! And if your body wants to rest -- do it.
I basically slept that whole first week! (If I wasn't sipping or walking, I was sleeping). Then every day will get better. Sounds like you are off to a great start! Get your rest, along with your liquids and protein, and your energy will return before you know it. I was back to teaching after 2 weeks off and did just fine.
That's when the fun began. I kept a journal and weighed myself every Monday. (Most weeks I lost, but I didn't stress the few times I stayed the same or gained). Take measurements every month or so. You will be amazed. You will buy clothes and they will be too big before you take off the tags. Seriously so much fun!!
I haven't had my surgery yet, so I can't help with your question, but I just wanted to say good luck and I hope you recover quickly!
Congratulations! I have not had my surgery yet but just wanted to wish you the best of luck on your recovery. The members of this forum are so helpful and supportive. Take care.
I slept for the first 3 days in hospital. Then once home and on full fluids I started to feel a lot better but had nasty headaches prop from dehydration. I had some twinges that continued for a week. On day 9 I felt really fatigued. Overall maybe two week to feel normal
I slept off and on for the first week. After that I went back to work. I have a desk job so it wasn't too horrible but I was still sleepier than usual. I would crash out early at night. I was pretty much back up to normal in a few weeks. The more fluids and proteins you manage to get in the better you will feel.
Hi I am 3 weeks after my surgery, I slept for the first few days after my surgery, I felt ok when I sat but when I got up and walked about I felt drained. Last week was worse, I felt dizzy and lethargic. Yesterday I started feeling like myself and even better today. I think we are all different so you have to just listen to your body. Make sure you eat well, drink and rest. Good luck, I hope you have swift recovery.
