Default 9 months in the books!

Yesterday marked the 9 month anniversary of the start of my new life. I could never have imagined in my craziest fantasies that I would be 5 pounds below my goal weight at this stage! I honestly thought at my one year I would be close to my goal. I'm so thrilled that I made it.

Nsv this month is the gym. I'm TOTALLY addicted to working out and don't feel like I'm being judged. Love planet fitness! My arms are looking better as far as the extra skin goes. My butt and thighs however.....not so great. Looking great in clothes though. I'm doing some strength training. Waiting for my gym to get a trainer hired to do more training. I'm in a size 2. Blows my mind!!!! My bones are sticking out like crazy! My shoulders, wrists and ribs are super visible. Knees... I have them! My spine and ankles can be seen again! That hasn't happened since birth!

I can eat 5.25 oz of chicken sometimes. Getting120 to 140 grams of protien in a day. My carbs are kind of on the higher end of what i would like but it is because of my vanilla soy milk. I can live with that because I don't eat bread, pasta or any sugary sweets. As for veggies I have the frozen stir fry ones. I do not put any sauce on them. Or I have sweet potatoes. My average caloric intake ranges from 1250 to 1550 a day. Doing just fine with that range.

Just waiting now to see where my body wants to settle at.

Thank you all for the love and support. You are my rock. Have a great weekend everyone!

Thanks! Losing the 51 pounds before surgery I think is the biggest reason I am as far along as I am. You are doing fantastic btw!

Oh sweet Cody! What an example of "doing it" you are! I have yet to get back to the gym; my intuition is that my calories are a bit too low right now; however, based on Ann2's sage advice, I'm starting to move calories up.

I hear ya about looking okay with clothes on -- but then again, my streaking days have been over for a long time!

    Congraultations!

RE Nude beaches -- perhaps if everyone took off their bifocals? I do think men in some ways, are more comfortable in their own skins, even if its sagging! Mine isn't too bad, but grateful only drs, my family & undertaker have to see it. (My birthday suit needs a steam press!)

    Well done you !
Millie let me tell ya about pain. I was pretty much home bound because of low back pain. It was so bad. I had injections and branch block that all failed. I was taking so many pain pills just to get some sort of relief so I could move. My back is still really messed up due to a weird anomaly. I have an extra disk. I know I will have to have it fixed later in life with a fusion but for now I'm just dealing with it. I also have arthritis in my back and knees. That being said losing the weight helped so much!

I went from being mostly homebound and no job to having a part time job that is physical and working out at a gym!

So to your question do I have pain. Yes I do but it is managed with Tylenol if I need. Sometimes it is really bad but those episodes don't last. No more narcotics for me! I can function again. That has got to be the biggest nsv is getting me back.

You said your surgery is in April. Take this time to change your relationship with food. Lose weight before surgery. That was the biggest reason I think I have gotten to where I'm at in a short amount of time (16 months and 135 pound down!).

    Sorry for the long post

    Thankyou so much Cody !!!

Yep I'm trying to change eating habits, got a slow cooker today and it's already prepped with loads of chicken and fresh veg to cook while we're at work tomorrow !
I've got my last piece of lemon drizzle cake to eat tonight, then that's it. Seems weird to think that in 6 weeks time, I'm restarting my life aged 54 !
So looking forward to not have my belly sitting on my thighs .
So glad I found this forum.
