I had my sleeve procedure six weeks ago and am having trouble with constant nausea. It’s keeping me from getting enough liquids and protein. Did anyone else experience this or do you have any ideas to help? Thank you.
I drink a cup (slowly) of ginger tea, which seems to work. When I had chemo nausea I used to keep a hard peppermint in my mouth which helped. But I cannot do "sugar" with the lower weight because my diabetes (although well controlled) gets schizoid!
If you can add some protein to your beverage (someone suggested in coffee/tea), then it might help you get both in. Be careful not to dehydrate!
I did better with warm liquids initially. Maybe that can help you. Also, I had to have very small amounts but frequently. As Annie said, try not to get dehydrated. And see if your surgeon can prescribe you an anti nausea medication. I know my surgeon prescribed me one post op. It helped a lot.
