Just found this fantastic forum and registered. Wow, full of great advice, tips, motivation etc.
After years of yo yo diets and wearing a happy smile, whilst being desperately unhappy inside, I'm going for it on April 10th.

For some reason I'm not nervous, it's almost as if a huge weight😂 has been lifted simply by knowing that I'm booked in and starting my journey.

I look forward to reading everyone's updates and inspirational stories !!

HI Millie, Welcome to the forum. I am also booked for the 10th of April. I am both excited and nervous. Excited because hopefully this will be the end of yo yo dieting and starting to like myself again. I am looking forward to going into a 'normal' shop to buy clothes and not going to the 'fat' shop. However I am still nervous as I have read about the pain after surgery and of the risks involved with surgery. I am trying to start cutting down now, but not always succeeding. At least we will be at the same stage at the same time. good luck with it all.

Great news ! We can be buddies, especially since you're in the UK. We'll be able to share meal ideas.
So glad I joined today.
Ive got appt soon for camera thingy ( I can't remember what that's checking ! ) WHILST I'm awake. Consultant said it takes 2 mins.
Also appt with psychotherapist.

Let me know how you get on with yours.

HI Millie, I had to laugh at the Ellie or Elllie. That was a mistake and I did not realize I had made it until I tried to sign in. Best to always wear my glasses and check spelling! Where about are you in the world? As far as I am aware I am not having any physical tests. I will be having some bloods taken before surgery and will see the dietitians. We can definitely be buddies,

I'm in Surrey.
I wonder why you haven't got any other tests? Maybe consultants have different procedures?

I just told my friend about surgery, and she said " you'll find a way to cheat " !!!
That's why these forums are so good, we're all in the same boat so understand each other !!

I have made a decision not to tell anyone other then my immediate family, as I don't want peoples negative comments. I already have a friend who made a horrible comment about someone we both know who had a bypass and after that I made the decision to just say I am on a very restrictive diet. Are you going o the NHS or private? I am going privately and am hoping to lose 45kg. Hopefully being on here and having all this fantastic support will make the whole procedure much easier.

I'm going private. I don't think I'll tell anyone, but I'm not sure how I'll get away with eating so little at work without anyone asking questions !
I may just go out every lunch time for a walk !

I'm surprised you haven't got any other appointments though, maybe you'll get letters/ emails soon from at the very least a dietician.
I'm hoping I can use Cambridge diet type Shakes prior to surgery as I've got loads from previous attemps ! I've got at least 4.5 stone to lose. 5 would be perfect.

Here's to our new shopping trips !! I love Next, but my fav is Wallis !!

I tried the Cambridge diet and couldn't drink the shakes they made me ill. I will be seeing the dietitian's before surgery but i wont be have any scopes etc, just bloods. I too am looking forward to shopping, I lIke Monsoon, Karen Millen and I have a pair of Levi's in my cupboard that have been there for the past 20 years that I can't wait to wear.I will never be as thin as I was when I got married but I will be happy to be the weight I was after my first child.
