I just ask for the "to go" box first, and off load what I know I'm not going to eat. It either becomes another couple of meals for me, or another meal for my husband. And appetizers are not always the healthiest choice, so it just depends on the menu.

It does help me to look at menu's on line before I go. Then I am not faced with a lengthy decision, or a bad one.

I still recall the fist time I took the kids to Pizza Hutt post op. I ordered the smallest (under 600 cal) pizza and ate one slice.

The look on the waitress face when I asked for the remaining pizza to be boxed up was excellent, worth framing!

I had to tell her I wasn’t joking

I take large amounts of food home and make three to four more meals out of it. Mexican and Greek are our favorites.

I just order whatever I want. That maybe aa appetizer or I share an entree with someone. If I order an entree on my own I just take home the leftovers. I like that we can still maintain an active social life even though I only eat a small amount. My friends that know about my surgery always tease me that I'll be eating the same meal for 3 or 4 more days.
