Hi, I'm 4 days post-surgery. Got home yesterday and have to admit, I'm terrified.
Still sore and worry that every time I move or turn, that I'm in danger of damaging my pouch.
Guess I'm just looking for some reassurance.
Hi Kazzy! You will be sore. It was major surgery. I was sore for a week after then it was just fine. No more pain. The first week is the hardest! No you'll not damage your pouch if you twist or turn....with that said you still have to be careful. No lifting any but your water bottle to your lips. You will do great! Keep us posted on your progress! If You have ANY and I mean any questions just ask. We've all been there done that or going through it. Hugs!

You had surgery, of course it's going to hurt a little. It should get better every day. Don't be terrified, be excited about your new life!
If it doesn't get a little better every day, contact your surgeon just to be sure.
Don't worry. I kept holding a pillow on my stomach but then had a massive sneeze with no pillow and was sure I had torn myself internally. Trust me it was a big sneeze and nothing happened. That pillow on my tummy and a heating pad really helped as did warm liquids.
