I just got sleeved Monday! I’m home now and feeling pretty good, but I seem to feel hungry for everything even though My stomach could never take it! Is this normal?
For me it was. I was so disappointed to find that I hadn't lost that feeling but you will soon learn it's "head hunger." Once I started eating pureed food and then when I hit soft food, I experienced fullness so quickly that I didn't experience hunger again for awhile. Now I get a vague hunger feeling around my regular meal times. Learning to eat slowly and understand what "full" and "hungry" really means. Still working on it.
You may also be experiencing gas that mimics hunger. If your doctor didn't give you a prescription for acid-reducers, you should ask for one. Takes a week or two to kick in but that's also a big issue in the early days.
I'll tell you what I tell myself: Relax. Your only job for the first month is to build up to getting your 64oz of water each day and come as close as you can to 60+ g of protein. WAY too soon to worry about failure. Rest, drink, sleep, walk a little. That's what success in the first month looks like. It's an unfolding mystery and each phase brings new discoveries. The only way you could possible fail is to start eating ice cream several times a day. My guess is you'd take a bite or two and your new little tummy would tell you how it feels about all that sugar and dairy.
At 3 months I am trying very hard to eat more than 800 calories a day. Even saying that boggles my mind. My husband is taking me to a favorite restaurant for dinner tonight, a place that in the past I would have eaten an appetizer, entree, wine, and possibly dessert. Haven't been there since surgery and he laughs about what a cheap date I am now. If I can eat an entire appetizer it's a big night for me.
Look up the posts from tinman. You'll feel better.
I wasn't at all hungry, but we're all different!
Take the antacid Rx. Really. It will help. A lot.

Head hunger is very normal. Your brain hasn’t forgot how you used to eat. Also stomach inflammation mimics hunger pains and growling. Important to take your antacid twice a day to help this. If it wasn’t time to eat I’d tell myself your not hungry and distract myself with a walk. Hang in there. It will get easier.
Yes, same for me.
Further, I experienced big frustration the first month after surgery, I wanted to eat and was craving but as soon as I started eating I was full within 2 spoons. I would say that the head must adapt and it takes some times. But dont worry, once your head has understood, you dont crave for food anymore, and not so strongly!
I had mental hunger. I really wanted to eat even though I really wasn't physically hungry. I actually kind of became obsessed the first few weeks after surgery watching food videos! I would constantly look up food on Pinterest, watch you tube videos of people making food, I mean, it was crazy! Now that I can eat normally, that has gone away
