Sorry your going through a tough time. The main reason for the preop diet is to shrink your liver and make it safer and easier for the surgeon to preform the Sleeve surgery.
Why do you think is the reason the sleeve surgery has not worked for you?
Did you not change your diet? If you consume slider foods they won’t fill you up and you can consume to many calories or if you drink while eating or don’t wait at least 30min it can push your stomach content through the sleeve to fast and make you hungry to soon and cause you to eat to soon.
Do you live an active lifestyle or are sedentary?
I have heard in rare cases in the US surgeons not removing enough of the stomach
Ive had a lot of success with the sleeve Ive lost 143lbs in less than a year. Remember all weightloss surgies are just tools.

    What do you eat?
Can you give an example what a typical day of eating is for you?
English is not my first language anymore, so I may and do make mistakes in my spelling, or say things oddly. Please ask me, if you want any clarifications.

hi! so basically we can understand that our calorie intake will show in our weight. As we all know the sleeve isn't a fix all its a tool. The sleeve is to help curve our hunger and send that signal to our brain that says "stop"
I am curious, do you know how big your stomach was after you were sleeved?
I think it would be in your best interest to go to counting calories, focus on protein. Drink water, don't have soda....i was under the impression that we shouldn't have soda because the air would hurt...its also because soda will stretch our stomach.
if your eating as much food in one sitting as an average person your eating more then I am at 3 years out. a liquid diet will definantly help you loose weight, go back to when you were sleeved. pick a date, like March 1st, and say "that's my sleeve date" so do the diet before the sleeve and follow what you had to do after the surgery.
    sleeved 12/30/14 @255lbs Goal 140lbs
    3/3/15- 208lbs 6/14/15- 163lbs
    lost 92lbs in 1st 6mo
    9/10/15- 139 1/5/2016 - 128lbs
    lost 128lbs in 1 year
    4/4/16 - 123lbs 7/4/16 - 129lbs 12/3/16- 130
    still 128lb loss@2 year mark-11lbs below goal
gained 13lbs by 3 year mark weighing 142lbs
Gained up to 158 by 3 years 3 months!
    3.5 years back to 142
    hoping to stay between 140lbs-145lbs
4 years hanging in between 145 and 150
5 year mark! ugh! Up to 160! Time to get back track!

Why don't you go back and see your surgeon and ask him/her what the deal is? Perhaps an endoscopy is necessary.

I seriously have never heard of anyone who lost only 25 pounds after being sleeved. Not saying you're the only one -- just never heard of anyone losing that little amount of weight post-op.

Yes I was at 206 when I went in and after a while my weight was twenty five pounds less . I did not get full feeling like everyone else, my husband had it one month before me. He lost over 160 . My neice also had it. they all said my sleeve was not enough cause I could eat normal just about after surgery. I think I am going to go get a second opinion. I went and talked to him about how it is not feeling the effect like all others and he just had not alot to say.
    It sucks.

That seems impossible to me. Did you follow any of the rules as to what you should be eating?

Especially right after surgery, I think it would be impossible to not lose weight. You can barely eat anything. You aren't even hungry.

That just does not make any sense to me. I see everyone asking you about following the rules and such. See, even that wouldn't make sense to me. Even if you didn't follow the rules, you still should have lost weight in my opinion. I didn't follow the rules. Hell, my mother was eating onion rings 8 days after her surgery. She's basically a stick figure right now at 2 years out. The sleeve is just a tool, but it's a pretty damn effective tool at getting the weight off. Our real work comes in at keeping it off, and in my humble opinion that is where the rules become a lot more important. It seems to me that something went wrong with your tool, and I'd be in that surgeon's office demanding answers.

I would definitely get another opinion. I think most likely your surgeon didn’t remove enough of your stomach. I heard this can happen and when redone properly the person had the success they needed. I’m sorry your surgeon wont help you. Did your husband go to a different doctor? You should have felt a lot of restriction right after surgery. Good luck

Yes I have to agree with Ann and Sraebaer this sounds really weird. something isn't right and you need a second opinion. I would think it would be virtually impossible to not lose more than 25 pounds. Also Pam you are very upset about this and so you should be if the surgery has not been performed correctly or something. please go and seek a second opinion and let us know what happens. Best wishes

Wow. Only 25 lbs? I would be upset. I think either something was not done correctly or you would have had to have been eating an absurd amount of calories from slider foods. Either way, that really stinks.
