Default Don't say the 'S' word - ahh crap too late !!!

Ok time for my 3 week check-in I've been dreading all week

You see I only mentioned stalling last week and that's exactly what my body did, as soon as I started on puree and went back to work. Not only did I stall but put on 1 kg overnight at the start of the stall (still scratching my head on that one!) - 110 kg to 111 kg

So trying to keep it (my head) together; yes I lost a lot of weight quickly, yes I don't blame my body for wanting to go into starvation mode (been fairly hungry post op).

BUUTT so soon after only 2 weeks? Am I doing something wrong, how am I going to keep that negative critical inner voice from dragging me down.... gulp

Ok so here's what I did all week. I weighed every day, scales did not budge - NOT ONE SINGLE GRAM ALL WEEK, I did not change anything, I kept reminding myself this is my body catching up after being starved and I just need to ride it out, its a marathon not a sprint.......

So yesterday my body told me I needed to taste real food - sorry but I've decided that puree stage is maybe worse than the liquid stage - it changes the taste of the food. My weekend treat is Thai Pork Laab (90% pork mince) from the markets, last w'end I pureed it - yuck, yesterday I decided not to puree it, I had half cup and ate slowly (use to that being a x-bander) and chewed throughly. To my surprise I felt immensely satisfied and great, no issues, no pain just all enjoyment. I also had a quarter cup of coconut tapioca dessert (prob quite high in fat and some carbs). For the first time since surgery I felt satisfied, and it lasted longer.

So weigh-in this morning and to my surprise I lost 0.5 kg overnight (so Gege I can relate to your great hot dog story!!!) a but not only that I decided to check my measurements a week early and to my surprise, although I have gained weight in the week I have stalled, I still lost cms.

    Total loss in one week:
    Waist 5.5 cm (2.16 inches)
    Hips 3 cm (1.1 inch)
    L thigh 2 cm
    R thigh 2 cm
    Boobs 3 cm

So the message in my story (saying this to myself ) is NEVER GIVE UP, IGNORE THE INNER CRITIC AND KEEP MEASURING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Have a great day everyone

Have you not heard of the "Three Week Stall"?

It's so common it's even got a name -- the Three Week Stall.

It's so common you can GOOGLE it.

Seriously, your Three Week Stall proves you're normal.

    Stop worrying. You're doing fine.

Have someone in your house hide your scale. You don't need it now, it is only messing with your head. This works. I promise.

During the losing phase I only permitted myself to stand on the scale every Monday morning. I journaled it. Most weeks I lost, a few I stayed the same, and a few I gained. But I got to goal weight and kept the weight off.

But if it's going to drive you nuts to ever stay the same or even gain one week, just stay off the scale.

Stalls are hard and make you doubt everything your doing. Don't let it get into your head. They will pass as you can see...even though they are maddening! You're doing great. Keep up with the protien and water!

I love the word stall, because I'm a pilot. There are two things that can happen when you stall a plane. You recover the stall and carry on flying, or you crash.

You are not going to crash!

Hahaha. Yup. That damn first stall is a mind screw! Why I always tell people to take measurements and pictures to chronicle their weight loss.
