Beard question! MEN I need your help!!!

Hey BEARDED MEN! I need your help! During my husband’s pre op visit this past Thursday, our surgeon said that there is one anesthesiologist at the hospital that WILL NOT work on a man who has a beard and if he gets that one particular anesthesiologist he will make him shave his beard! He had an amputation surgery last year due to his diabetes and did well and nothing about shaving his beard was ever mentioned. His beard is like his baby; he loves it, nurtures it, protects it, and would/will do anything to keep his beard! He said that he would refuse to do the surgery if it came down to shaving his beard! NNNOOO!!! Please guys I need your help! Has anyone ever heard or experienced this before?! I need prayers that we don’t get that ONE anesthesiologist that doesn’t like beards! HELP!

Completely ridiculous!!!! I've never heard of anything so stupid! So does this guy refuse in an emergency and get a shave kit out!!!! Nobody can be forced into shaving if they don't want to! Hope all works out well and I'm sure it will :-)

Then shave the thing off, jeez how hard is that?, a head full of all kinds of micro bugs need to go, he can grow it back you realise or is he getting scared about the need to reduce eating crap food and using this as a get out of jail card. Sorry to sound direct but really man, shave it off just in case.

I had a full beard at time of surgery and the subject never came up, but if it did, ans that was the difference between getting the procedure or not, give me tge razor. Two little months and you have it back. Small price to pay for overhauling your life. Just my opinion.

Yes totally he could just shave it off. I'm more astounded by an anaethetist who goes "Nahhh I don't do beards".... completely ridiculous!
Some people are terribly fond of their beards. Not clinically necessary and the anaethetist sounds like a dick to be fair.

Yeah Stacy I’m with you! It sounds rediculous! He was able to go through another surgery with no mention of shaving the beard!

That’s what I said! I said shave it off! It’ll grow back! A small price to pay for good health! They said if push came to shove that they could “slick it down” with KY jelly to create a seal around the beard with the mask. He said that he would gladly have a greased up beard instead of shaving it.

I told him it would grow back. lol he said he’s not shaving it because of many various reasons. Yes he is known for his gorgeous long red beard and I’m sure it would be like someone asking me to shave my head, I wouldn’t want to but if I needed to do it for my health I may take it more seriously. Please just pray that we don’t get that one anesthesiologist!

I think it’s fonally starting to hit him that his sleeve is more important than his beard. If push comes to shove he may shave it.
