Default Protein shakes and other random things :-)

Who still has a protein shake for breakfast? I do and i love it!!! Remember all my whinging about how I loathed protein shakes and I wanted to be rid of them. Turns out that it has really suited me for breakfast in the end. Sometimes i'm totally wrong about stuff. Also Ann gave me a good heads up about checking labels when i was about 6 weeks in and I realised that the shake I was drinking was loaded with sugar and carbs! The HORROR! So I went out and found a non sweet, non loaded one and became a happy chook. I'm in Australia and use isowhey because it does not taste sweet (can't stand sweet).

The other thing that woke me up at 3 am was that Aussie girl might be using collegen powder as protein and Christie told me it wasn't a complete protein so I needed a protein powder too.... I'm just saying this here as i know Ms aussie will spot it and have the heads up :-)

Also.... I used to be so bad about moisturising my body... face:I was all over it. Body: hopeless. Since surgery I've been in the routine of doing it every night. I think this is probably good. I'm just using bio oil at the moment, I'm a fan of oils. Do you do this?

Also it is 37 degrees here today so my run won't be till sundown. Should have got up earlier but I have been up at 5am four times this week for crossfit so I'm letting myself off.
Also... Cody. I am so delighted for her. Onya Cody.
Happy weekend everyone and it's been really nice to see lots of new people posting to the board.

Oh Edie, I was just laughing at myself because after all that whining about protein drinks my breakfast most days is half a cup of coffee and half a container of Premier Protein. Or protein powder mixed with Fairlife milk and coffee.... For some reason I can't get myself away from liquids in the morning. Also, if I don't start getting in my water first thing in the morning I don't seem to make it without drinking at night (and that leads to night wake ups).

It's 37 here, too. But I think we're talking about very different 37s.

I still have a protein shake for breakfast! Almond milk with Inspire protein powder. I’m still (and even before surgery) nauseous in the mornings and just can’t stomach food.

I also have my protein coffee shake for breakfast-ish.
I also have oatmeal, but my coffee comes right after that.

And my skin... OMG, honestly, I am growing scales...
Luckily I'm in Morocco right now, and I am going to buy cosmetic Argan Oil.
    Maybe that will help.
English is not my first language anymore, so I may and do make mistakes in my spelling, or say things oddly. Please ask me, if you want any clarifications.

Thanks for the heads up Edie , luckily not my only source of protein, also having very low carb whey protein powder and now I'm on real protein also, yay! The collagen powder (grass feed collagen hydrolsate) has 11g of protein per 12 g serve, 43 cal and 10 diff amino acids. Might do some more research protein powders as I do like this one to add to anything hot (my coffee) or cold (boost to my protein drink).

Yes loving my banana protein smoothie for breakfast, think this will be a keeper

I do, but I just started maybe 6 months ago when I discovered it made the best coffee creamer on the planet, makes me think I'm at Starbucks. So at 4 and a half years out I have a Premier Protein shake every morning. What doesn't go into my coffee goes towards breakfast.

I did go quite a few years swearing off any shakes. I even brought my leftovers to support group to give away. But I'm back!

I have Monster Muscle protein shake every single morning, and have for over 3 years now. It's loaded with carbs and caffeine, and I don't care. I am addicted. The local grocery stores don't carry them. My local convenience store orders me a case every week, but has a few times not had them in stock for me. I have been known to drive to every gas station in three cities to find one.

Edited to add: I just noticed you can see a can of it in the background of my avatar pic. I'm also drinking one right now. They're sooo good.

I drink a protein shake a few times a week. I get a lot of protein in my daily café latte made with nonfat Fa!rlife milk and all the meat I eat.
