Depends but it is at least 40% who do. I can tell you that it is not that bad. I used biotin from the early days so my hair had thickened up quite a bit. Then the hair loss started. So yes, my hair got thinner but it wasn't too bad. I still take biotin 2x a day. You can see the layers in my hair from the hair loss. But it is getting better.
Don't worry as far as I know it's nothing super special. My hair is almost two times thinner than it was. But, now I can see the new small ones, and I'm very happy. I take the complex pills for my hair, massage different oils and butter into my scalp. Trying to eat more protein and natural fat. Also, I don't know whether it's effective or not, but my doctor recommended me to use the wooden hairbrush like this. And remember, one of the main factors that influence and increases your hair loss is stress. So don't overstress too much about it.
For now, I think I would be patient. Your body has gone thru a tremendous amount of stress. I'm one that has lost about 35% or more of my hair!! Dr. also just brushed it off. He thought it was thyroid related (LONG story). I think most Dr.'s just brush it off. Even female Dr's. If it doesn't happen to them, they don't get it.
I would give it another few months to see if things settle down. use a non sulfate shampoo or one made for thinning hair. I've done that. After my ordeal back in April and getting my adrenals functioning better (because of the awful stress), my hair stopped shedding and is now starting to grow back slowly.
I went to a naturopath for my adrenal issue and she got me back on track. My Dr. thought it was thyroid which it was partly -- this is where the long story comes in but I won't go into the whole thing. Basically everything took a major hit - thyroid, adrenals, etc... I didn't need to go on RX thyroid meds. Those made everything much worse.
So your body right now went thru a lot and it does take time to recover which is hard to sit back and wait and see. I didn't want to wash my hair because every time I did, I got handfuls out and it just made me sick! But it got better.

All people talk with me, but no one know me
All the best, Zimeru
I think for most people it's minimal, so don't worry about something that may be no big deal at all. If you are lucky enough to have thick hair you won't even notice. My hair is thick and the only way I knew I was losing some is I'd see some short little "fly away" pieces growing in. I never took anything for it, just my required vitamins.
Believe me, being a regular size person with a tad bit less hair for a short period of time is WAY better than being an obese person with perfect hair. Just my opinion of course!
I am almost 4 months out and still stressing about when or if my hair will start falling out. Will some of you please update your experience with hair loss? Most of these comments were made 6 months ago.
When does it start?
How long does it go on?
Thanks in advance for any comments you can provide!
it varies by person. My mom had minimal hair loss.. my sister had none and mine fell out in fist fulls starting at 3 months and lasted until 6-months post op.. I lost a lot of weight very fast which may have added to my hairloss. I lost about 30 pounts the first month and lost 50 in the first 3 months. I'm 18 months post op and hair is full and normal now.
Mine did and is slowly growing back -- I'm wearing wigs (with what I hope is some panache!)
5.5 mths post op and my hair has been coming out in clumps for the past month,I am trying to be cool but I could cry. Its so thin , but currently not enough for people to notice. I wash it once a week , mainly wear it in a bun, and brush as little as possible, am hoping to ride this out and it will all come good , just like it did after pregnancy. Although I shall invest in biotain everything to see if it helps x
Most people do, but a tiny bit less hair is far less noticeable than being large, so totally no big deal.
My hair is thick, but I do notice some short pieces, so I did lose some. But I'm sure no one has noticed anything.
My hair loss started at 3 months. I noticed the loss while showering. My hair thinned for about two months. During my 5th month the hair loss stopped and by 6-7 months my hair was back to normal. During the 3rd and 4th month it was like I didn't need a haircut and my hair was not growing longer. Take your vitamins and biotin and it will be just a small problem for a short period of time. For me not a big issue but I did notice it. No one else commented to me about it.
