First time posting

Hi everyone, I'm Renee from Valdosta, Ga.
I been viewing the website nightly, but would never join or post because I was afraid of rejection. This is my third attempt at this surgery and always never made it past the requirement stage for some reason or another. Well I started this journey the week before Thanksgiving😊😊😊. I'm with Cigna and finished up all requirements onThursday the 25th of last month. My paperwork was sent off on the 26th and I was denied a week later because I needed a second opinion letter😢😢😢. I went to my primary care physician this Monday and told her why I was denied. She said, Renee I typed up that letter for you on the 19th of January, then she proceeded to give me a copy of the letter. She then refaxed the letter to my bariatric office. They resubmitted my paperwork Monday, I called today and I am so happy to say that I was told that I AM APPROVED 😅😅 I AM APPROVED 😅😅😅. I immediately called my bariatric office to tell them, and they were shocked because I had an answer before they did, and in less than 48 hours.
So I am joyfully writing my "HELLO" to you all. I can honestly say I've never been at this stage before. I'm beyond ready to take this journey with you all, share all of my experiences, and look forward to reading your experiences to help you along the way. During my last visit my surgeon estimated my surgery date would be around March 15th. That's a perfect date for me😋😋😋. Thanks for taking the time to read my long post, and I definitely be keeping you all posted.

Welcome and congratulations on clearing all of the obstacles that insurance can throw in your way! I have been through some issues myself, so I understand. So glad that you kept pushing because sometimes that is what it takes!!!!

Congratulations, Renee!!!! I too, have Cigna. What a pain in the butt it was trying to get approved, and going through the whole process! But it is worth it in the end.

Welcome Naynay and congrats on winning the insurance lottery! I also went through insurance and it is like a dog and pony show with all the hoop jumping but at the end of the day it is so worth it!!
