    Default Protein drink recommendations please

Looking for least expensive, dairy free protein drink

When choosing a protein drink, what do you look for in the ingredients most?
There are so many out there and each store has a “sales men” trying to hook you up with one without really helping pick the most efficient one

I've been buying cases of Premier Protein at Costco and Sam's Club. You get 30 g of Protein per shake and only 1g of sugar. The case was $16.99 & $19.99 for 18 shakes. They're so easy to transport and so far I haven't gotten tired of chocolate. Every so often I'll drink one with added peanut butter powder (I buy "Crazy Richards" on Amazon. Ea serving has 6g protein and 1g sugar and 50 calories) I also use Genepro GEN2 unflavored protein in soups. 30g per serving/58.7 calories. Although NOT the cheapest thing on the market. My nutritionist told me to stay below 6g sugar but I know ea NUT/Dr has their own set of guidelines. Oops,..just saw that you said DAIRY FREE too..sorry! I probably did not help you that much! I'm curious to see the non-dairy suggestions that others will give you! By the way...good luck on your surgery!

Unjury pea/plant protein. Are you looking for a clear protein shake or veg based?

Thank you so much for your recommendations @itsmyturn!

I, too, notice you recently had your procedure. How are you recovering? Anything you wish you did differently post-op? Any tips/recommendations

I was looking for post op when I start taking protein shakes, which will be the best one for me? I like to avoid dairy products as I already don't tolerate them very well. I am sure I won't be able to post op either.

Looked up Premier Protein shakes, Sams club and amazon definitely has good prices.
I saw 'Clear Protein' drinks by this brand as well... do you think I can use that during the 'full liquid' week the 1st week of post op?

My nutritionist gave me a list of requirements for my protein drinks. Sorry but I didn't save it. So they all aren't the same.

When you shop buy one of a bunch of them to see what you like. Don't buy anything in bulk until you've tried it, as you may hate it.

Like sraeber, my nutritionist had a set of guidelines for protein drinks. It had to be a Whey protein. I love the Jay Robb protein powder. Its sold at Vitamin Shoppe.

    Pure Protein or Premier Protein

    http://www.pureprotein.com/products/?categories=drinks

    https://shop.premierprotein.com/?_ga...344.1518197706

I order online and alot of times if I google "Pure protein coupon code" or "premier protein coupon code" I can usually find 10 or 20 percent off or free shipping

Costco sells about every flavor of Premier Protein in packs of 18. My coffee creamer! I think you get 18 for about $24.00 or around there, so cheaper than online.

I would suggest speaking with your surgeon/nutritionist to ensure you are choosing a good one. I personally like the EAS Advantage Low Carb shakes (my NUT said they are WLS approved) The Premier made me queasy but I know most people like those and they are acceptable for bariatric patients. Thing about WLS is that not all shakes have all the vitamins/nutrients we need.
