    Hey Pudsley

See my post on the other thread re my week and stalling (don't mention the 'S' word !!).... but to answer your other questions re work:

I haven't had a issue with fatigue so far, but everyone is different. Going back to work didn't make me feel tired, although I did notice a bit mid afternoons which I plug with a cacao & coffee hot drink with protein which does the trick.

My mind was working fine, although thinking back there were times I lost my train of thought when talking to staff! But nothing too bad or noticeable (I think) !!

I make my banana protein smoothie at home and take in two serves in my great hot/cold flask. I now love my cold drinks cold so I blend ice in as well. I also take puree meat and vege and have half cup for lunch. I fill the rest of the day in with protein drinks and/or adding protein in my coffee (I have 3-4 a day with milk).

I don't think I got enough cals into me in the first half of the week and certainly not enough water. I can get busy at work and forget, even though I have a reminder on my phone. I think that may have contributed to my stall this week. So I think I need to up my cals during the working week.

So all in all no energy and fatigue issue going back to work, but I do feel like I want to spend more alone/one-on-one time with my new tummy hahah !!!

Listen to your body, you may find the odd day you will only want to sleep or feel very sleepy all day (that happened to me day 9). If you get these days then better to rest than over doing it - its your body telling you something.

Plan to eat well when you start working again, set alarms or set a schedule for yourself, you should be able to do that and be on the phone to your clients I reckon

    Hi Aussie Girl,
    Brilliant advice.
I think the girls that I have spoken to who had their sleeve done whilst I had my thyroid glands removed. Are sticking to juice and chicken water and Ayran (yogurt type drink)
I would be exhausted too on these choices.
They are not doing protein drinks either or adding veg or even meat puree.
So the feedback from them is I am so tired.
I can't afford to be tired.
    I want to feel healthy.
Well Done and Thanks for the details of what you have had. It really helps.
    All the best to you.
    Great to have this site.
    Thanks Every one.
Less than 3 weeks to go now until my surgery. Feeling more nervous this time I think its because I have to travel back to UK a month after surgery and I have not told my parents or my siblings that I am doing this. So for 2 weeks right at the beginning of my sleeve I am challenged with coping with meal times around family.
I can't put off my trip as the cost is so high throughout the rest of the year so I have to make this trip.
Hoping I can pass off my change in meal times to my thyroid operation this January.
Feel guilty for not being honest but I really can't deal with their opinions on this as I know they don't think I am that overweight compared to them.
They also have great big fears around any surgery of any kind.
    xx

Don't feel pressured to tell people if you don't want to, good idea to pass off lack of hunger and weight loss on the thyroid! Just tell your family you are a little nauseous and not very hungry at mealtimes, just make sure you can sneak in your protein drinks in between times - how about a flask that looks like a water bottle? You'll be fine, you'll manage it somehow

    Aww Thanks for the support.
Yes I was thinking about lack of hunger on the thyroid.

I was worried about social eating with the family.
Then I read a thread from Beeza, he said he had soup and Tea.
I can do that I was worried about avoiding social eating.

Got to get my head around going and choosing to make different choices.
Phew Think I might be able to settle in my mind now.
Pass off the thyroid as lack of hunger, and feeling nauseous, but opting for soup and herbal tea so I don't stick out like a sore thumb.
    Thank you so much.
Hope all is going well for you.

I am retired, but was tired the first two weeks. Not incapacitated. I could do my volunteer work on a crisis line where they need 100% and So you can do it

    Hi AnneG,

Thank you for the honest answer. My work is very similar to yours!
I am sorry for late reply but somehow I thought I had replied to you. My apologies.

You have lost so much weight and so near to your goal !

So inspiring, I am less than a week away from my surgery and so prepared for it but it all feels surreal if you know what I mean.
