I can't go back to the way I was please can anyone who is experienced help me .

If you were happy at 144, it sounds like you are only 7 pounds above where you want to be. That's not much weight at all! Just get back on track to eating how you were taught after the sleeve, get some exercise, and you should lose those 7 pounds in no time.

You said it yourself, your old habits are coming back. Get back to your new habits!

My key to maintain is to weigh myself everyday so there are no surprises. If one day I'm up a pound, I'm careful, and it's gone the next day.

    Good luck, you've got this!

Heather, you and I are VSG twins. I was also sleeved in August 2014.

I can understand your fears. But you didn't give a lot of details about your "old habits" that are coming back or about what you imagine could be the contributors to those old habits coming back, e.g., new life stresses, old life stresses that haven't been adequately addressed, depression, assholes in your life, changes in your lifestyle that aren't in line with what supports YOUR self-care, etc.

I know you know what to do to lose weight and to maintain weight -- you did it well for a long time.

There's a new meme called "JFDI" that is shorthand for an old adage -- which is just what you'd imagine it means: Just Fucking Do It. But when you're feeling underwater that can be hard.

    Still, you've got to start.

Why not sit down and make a list of all the things you would like to get back to? Everything -- water, vitamins, supplements, protein, protein first, eating slower, no grazing between meals, what crappy foods in your house you need to throw out RIGHT NOW, the conversations you need to have with specific people about the life you want live and how you want to live it -- and all the other things you need to get back to and/or change in your life.

You can't do everything in one day. But you know you need to change them all within a fairly short period of time.

It's not that hard. It just takes commitment and some consistency on your part.

You can do this. You really can. (((hugs)))

I think the 7-9 lbs you need to lose is completely doable. Better to take action now before you gain a lot. Good luck to you. Listen to Ann and Sraebaer they are smart women.

    hi!
I am in the same boat. The fear is intense, huh?
I am going to do what Ann suggested: make a list of what I want to get back to. It sure does help to see it in front of you.
I am also going to be more active on this site again. It really helped me when I started this process.

Get back to basics! Are you keeping a food diary? If not, start, right away. I keep one and it helps me stay honest and really look at what I'm eating. Go back to a protein first, low carb diet. Also, exercise is a big part of the equation. Calories in vs calories out is the formula for success!

    Get back into the game!

    Good luck, hope this helps!
