    Default Plastics

Today I posted about my arm lift surgery that I had on Dec 21. If anyone is interested it is in that forum. I wasn't sure if I would post this or not, but decided to pay me experience forward, as I have benefited from others. Its been 3.5 years since my sleeve. As I am still discovering the journey continues. I have zero regrets having my sleeve and am getting happier with my arm lift as the healing progresses. This IS NOT an easy surgery. Not very painful, the healing process is long and your commitment to working the healing process must be sincere. I must admit the healing process was much more intense than I anticipated. But I am a strong woman who is going to see this through. I look forward to bathing suits and tank tops this summer!! (HA, never thought I would say those words...LOL)

Compression garments must be worn for 4 to 6 weeks. After week 2, I was instructed to do arm exercises by raising my arms to the front and then to the sides. Like a spider walking up the wall. It is not comfortable, but staying stiff is worse. I was allowed to shower after the third day, but no soap or washing the incisions. I posted in the plastics surgery forum if you would like to read it. I am at week 5 and have found that going back to the gym has been the best therapy. I'm not lifting weights but stretching, am back to the aerobic machines and am starting yoga and belly robics again. I do what I can without hurting myself. I'm not worried about scarring, because I can already tell how well the incisions are healing. I used a board certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon that has years of experience in this. Hope this helps.
