Default 9 days post op....IT ZIPS!

Overall I am feeling pretty darn good. Just had my post op visit and I am down 21lbs since my pre-op diet. CRAZY! I'm SO happy! As I was rushing to get to my appt, I pulled in (phew on-time!) grabbed my stuff, jumped out of my car and zipped up my coat. I walked briskly through the windy parking lot and started laughing..(delayed reaction) MY COAT ZIPPED! Holy cow...my coat that I was "holding closed" all winter long JUST ZIPPED UP COMFORTABLY! WOO HOO! Such a beautiful thing! I look forward to more of these exciting surprises!

On a not so great note....during my visit, my Dr gasped when I showed him my incisions. I am only the 2nd patient he has every had to be allergic to the surgical glue he used. My stomach looks like a gutted fish...chopped liver (I've had multiple abdominal surgeries in my life) and this pretty, raised, red rash that itches like CRAZY just adds to the beauty of it all! So gross...cortisone & Benadryl to the rescue. But you know what...I'll take it if it means losing weight and getting healthy! Has anyone else experienced this?

Sending blessings & smiles to all who've visited my post.

Oh I know what you mean. Every time I zip up my winter coat I smile. Couldn't zip last winter at all....

Yayyyy for the zipping! I was sensitive to the dressings so my abdomen was also a mess. Worth it though :-)

Congratulations on your coat zipping up! I've got a coat I've been holding closed for a while now, and I'm looking forward to a moment like yours.

I feel you on the adhesive giving you a reaction. I was like that in my 30s and then somehow it just went away. Maybe that will happen to you!

    Sounds like you're doing great!

My incisions were fine, but I did have a huge, itchy rash all over my tummy for a short period of time. I don't remember when, but I do remember it! It was probably early on. Hope yours is a distant memory too very soon!
