    Default Mexico WITHOUT a passport?

When I was trying to decide where to have my surgery, some of the places were telling me that I FOR SURE needed to get a passport to come back from mexico and some places told me that I DO NOT need a passport as long as I have a current driver's license and my birth certificate. Have any of you had surgery in mexico without a passport? I have a passport but its expired. I had to change my surgery date to get it renewed and now ive been told I don't need my passport.

In today's environment I wouldn't leave the country without a passport. You can visit the state department on line to get a valid answer but why take the chance with anything impacting your ability to leave and return to the country. It's just not worth it, especially after surgery when you don't want a complication in getting home.

Unfortunately I tend to agree. I would be scared to be stuck there. Although, you may be able to get a passport card instead of the book, which is much cheaper. I can't remember, but it may allow for all North American travel as well as the Bahamas. That is what I used when I went on my cruise last month. Again, it is only 30.00!

Don’t know who told you that you didn’t need a pass port; The problem isn’t entering Mexico from the states but you have to have a passport to enter back into the states. I had the same surgeon as you too. The medical tourism waves you through Mexico border but when leaving we had to give the border agents are passports. Good luck. I loved Dr A and had the best experience. 7ED98BDA-917E-4922-BDDE-47F66AC29541.jpeg95EEA5E3-8BA8-443D-B02F-2A1961E04240.jpeg

I think you already found the right answer and I hope your surgery gone well. I never had problems with my documents but I have some neighbors that face lots of issues because of their documents. They once tried to go to Canada using some fake ids and from what I know they faced some biggg problems. Last week, their son went to my family’s bar and tried buying cigarettes with a fake id. But we use a special app, named https://www.idanalyzer.com/products/...d-scanner.html that scans the is immediately and shows us if it is real or not. Is a saver when they are made identically like the real ones.

I have lived in Mexico for the last 22 years and many, many people come here for bariatric and plastic surgery, dental work and more. I had my sleeve surgery in 2007. There are very reputable businesses in the area I live (Lake Chapala, Jalisco, 40 minutes south of Guadalajara) where you stay in their hotel/B&B, they take you to appointments and you are cared for during recovery. This is one of the safest areas of Mexico if that is a concern to you and it's beautiful here with one of the best climates in the world. I'm happy to answer questions for anyone who's thinking of Mexico as an option.

I am confused because my cousin went to Tijuana from San Diego and had her driver's license and birth certificate and they let her cross both ways no problem. This was a year ago. Have things changed?
