Coping with the fear of failure

I am so excited for you. I am trusting what others say and expecting the first week to be rough, but then I hope that you find that it just gets easier from there. You will get lots of support here....that’s for sure!!!

6 years out - still have a bit of a fear of failure! You have lots of company.

Your sleeve will help you get the pounds off more quickly than on your own and that in itself with quiet the demons so to speak. Then when you are healing and stronger you will be able to quiet them for good and let your new life begin!!! Wishing you success and happiness xoxoxoxo

I'm a little more than 1 1/2 yrs out and I still have the fear of failing. Studies show that people start gaining weight after about 2 yrs post surgery and that's coming up the end of May for me.

I think the fear may be what helps us keep focused, though.

Anecdotally is year 3 is where things get rough. I didn’t have any regain until about 5 years post op, but year 3 was when things got real. Having said that, I am 25 pounds or so my "hot" weight, yet i look and feel amazing compared to my formerly morbidly obese self. I get plenty of attention from rhe opposite gender... No need to be perfect just going for health and enjoying life..
