Default 6 Mo Post Op and feeling great!

Hi Sleevers, it has been awhile since I have been on the board. Hope everyone is doing great. I know there are so many new people on here now, welcome and congrats to you wherever you are in the WLS process. (hugs)

I am 6 months out and have lost almost 60 pounds. I just updated my picture today that was taken over the weekend. I am doing really well but still struggle to get in the protein I need. I will never regret my decision to have WLS as it really has changed my life in so many positive ways.

Question to the experienced Sleevers..... is there a forum on here to discuss issues post op... a you are now living day to day in your new normal? I have some questions and want to make sure I am going to the right "board"

    Continued success to all xoxo

Hello! I am one of the newbies who hasn't had the surgery yet, but I am so encouraged by your gorgeous picture and that movement on your ticker! That is wonderful!

I would say we're all mixed together, new and old sleevers alike. I've been here over 4 years, and this site helps keep me accountable. People helped me with every question in the book when I had surgery, and I hope I'm helping newbies now with their questions. (Sometimes I'm too blunt, I have to watch that).

You are looking fabulous my friend! Hope you are feeling just as good. Curious as to what your questions to the veterans might be. I too like reading the experiences from others. I am almost four months out and the weight is coming off, but very slowly. I have been doing cardio and weight training so I am hoping the scale keep moving in the right direction. Are you still drinking protein shakes? Since I am not able to eat too much I am on two protein shakes a day. This way I know I am getting in 60 grams a day. Hope your having a great weekend!

    -Mara

Thanks Mara, I guess I am wondering what people eat each day. I brought a shake to work today and I am going to start drinking at least 1 a day to get my protein in. I have not been meeting my goals. I have had a real problem with Pepperidge Farm Goldfish crackers and it is a little bit embarrassing. I try to eat protein of any kind... eat a very small amount and then I have a hand full of those stupid, non-nutritional crackers. I know better, but they settle my stomach and I have had a problem putting them down. I will get this under control... being back on the site is huge for me to be accountable and communicating with other sleevers xo

Gigi, you look great! Are you really tall because you look like you're about 6ft tall in that photo and ready for the runway.

I identify with the goldfish bc my stomach is just so unsettled some days and I feel like it's begging me to stop with the protein and eat something easy for a change. I've found Blue Diamond Nut Thins/Cheddar Cheese do the trick for me. They have some protein, no sugar, low carbs and only 130 calories for 19 crackers. I try to stick with just a few and sometimes I use them to eat my tuna salad. But they're super crunchy and don't taste like cardboard (so many healthy crackers do) so they satisfy me. Maybe you can use them to transition away from the goldfish.

Hope I have as much success as you. Thanks for sharing.
