    Default Gas X Strips discontinued?

I know everyone recommends Gas X Strips but I've been to 7 stores can't find them, including online, other than Amazon but it's $50 for two boxes.

Anyone able to find them? Or a substitution?

I had gastric sleeve surgery last week and didn’t need gas x strips. I also could not find them.

My surgeon, Dr. Pasten in Tijuana pulls out as much gas as they can prior to closing the incisions with surgical glue. So I had no gas pains. I had a few toots the second day.

We don't have them in Australia so I didn't use them. I found walking helped. I was concerned that I was having crushing sternal chest pain but once i knew it was gas I was okay lol. It's not so bad :-)

    Hi,
I didn't experience all the gas pains like many people do. But, I purchased over the counter Phazyme chews. I actually just found the unopened bottle in my cabinet the other day, as I never really had to use them... I occasionally got stomach pains/cramps, but nothing too bad. I still get cramping pains from time to time.
Best of luck with your surgery!

Gas X strips have nothing to do with the gas they pump into your body to operate. Somehow this myth keeps growing on this site. Gas X strips are for intestinal gas. So forget them, unless maybe you just ate a huge bowl of bean soup.

Dr. Almanza was my surgeon as well. He will provide you with Maalox, so you really don't need Gas-X. And, as others have posted, intestinal gas is a separate issue from surgical gas. The gas they pump into your torso won't magically pass through the wall of your stomach, so no worries there. Just take the Maalox they give you if you find yourself belching a lot or having heartburn. Otherwise, walking is the best remedy. Good luck!

Have to agree with the above statement!!!!!

The gas pains you experience right after surgery are not gas pains that strips, pills, or otherwise can relieve! It's from the gas they use to inflate your abdomen (not your stomach). Now, they may act as a placebo and give you relief, but its only a placebo effect.

Getting out of bed and walking is the best cure for gas pains after surgery!

I never used the gas x strips and I survived just fine. To expel the gas from surgery you really just need to keep getting up and walking around as much as you comfortably can. As for stomach acid, you just need a PPI. You can use over the counter or ask your doctor for a prescription.
