    Question Hello

Hi, everyone. I got gastric sleeve surgery 12 days ago. So far, I am having an excellent recovery. I felt fairly normal and over the surgery by Day 4. For the past two days, I've felt well enough to do 30 minute walks on hilly roads. My only struggle right now is fatigue. It is absolutely brutal! I've had several days where I have to take 2-3 hour naps. Is this normal? How long does it last?

I'm 3 weeks out and I'm so tired at night, I'm out like a light as soon as my head hits the pillow.
Before my op, I was up until midnight then during the night for a snack.
It's a big change to our body, so I guess it needs time to recover.
    Good luck on your journey.

I am currently at exactly 6 weeks Post Op and I can finally say, my stamina is back. It literally took me the entire 6 weeks to feel all the way back. I work at my desk for 8 hours a day, so that probably does not help, but it is what it is! Congrats on taking your life back and before you know it, you will be all the way back to normal, but with a great tool to live your life by!!

My fatigue went away fairly quickly but it really varies from person to person. Getting in enough protein, fluids, and vitamins can help a lot. Are you taking any B12?

The fatigue is totally normal. You are recovering from surgery. And it sounds like you're doing really well! Just take a good nap every day and don't feel guilty about it! Your body needs the rest to recover.
