    Default Pork Chops - OW!

So first time post-op I pan fried up a truly delicious bone-in pork chop last night. Topped it with herbed mashed cauliflower and onions. Took two bites and my sleeve was like LOOOOOOL NOPE. It felt like an 18-wheeler Mack Truck was sitting in my body. I didn't feel nauseous though! But it just SAT THERE for over an hour as acid reflux of the worst kind washed over me. BLEH! I really wanted to eat that darn pork chop too. It smelled so good!

Anyone else have trouble with pork?

I am 11 weeks post op and I agree pork chops are a problem. I tried thin pork chops not overdone and could only eat a few bites. Tasted good but no luck. I get the same feeling with chicken breast. I like chicken thighs or legs.

Pork might be "the other white meat," but it's also a lot like beef in density and consistency and requires to break it down.

Eventually, you'll be able to eat it. But put it on the back burner for now.

    Still, pig is good.

I was able to eat pork but with all solids I had to eat it really slow and cut up really, really well. AND....the more solid the protein the less of it I could eat at a time. The farther along you get the easier it will get. I still have to be careful not to eat too much or too quick or I will regret it.

I don't have a problem. I make a pork roast/roll every couple of months and freeze part of it or give half away to a neighbor.

In the beginning any meat (beef, pork, chicken) did that to me. Felt like I would die! I would try lying down, walking around, nothing helped. I did much better with fish, it is so much softer and less dense. Made my tummy happy.

It was odd that even hamburger was difficult at first. I would have thought ground meat would have been easier to digest, but no.

Luckily that not eating meat thing didn't last; now I can eat anything. So you will be eating your delicious pork chops in the near future. It just takes time.
