    Default Ridiculous indigestion

Really feeling the pain tonight. Indigestion is so painful.
I tried to have some dip and crackers for tea and I'm paying for it
    big time.
I've got some antacid medicine, have taken it but still feel blah!
I'm trying to drink water to help but because I'm so full in the throat
    it hurts to swallow. Yuck!
If I ever recover, I hope, I'm only ever having puréed food. I hate feeling ill.
Can you tell? Sorry for the whinge but it hurts.

At your stage, dips and CRACKERS are definitely off limits!! Watch your diet carefully, you are healing. Your body need recovery time.

Yeah, I have found that out the hard way.
I just thought that I'd try. Not again.
They looked good on the plate but not in my stomach. Yuck!

I drink tea and a lot of water whenever indigestion occurs. Crackers, oatmeals and other soft foods also ease pain.

So sorry you're feeling bad! You're only 17 days out, at that stage I could only eat mushy, soft food. Stick with the program, it works. Let that tummy heal.

My surgeon perscribed acid reflux meds for one month after my surgery. If you're taking over-the-counter stuff, maybe you want to ask for a prescription. Could help. I only used them for that one month.

And nothing is forever, don't worry. You will be eating regular food in no time, and forget about this early part. You are on your way to being a healthy, regular-sized person. Totally worth it! Get excited!

So sorry Your in pain. I’ve had that happen when I ate to much. It’s awful. You should only be eating soft if purée food. I couldn’t eat hard food until week 4 or 5. Crackers are also considered slider foods. That’s a no no when your trying to loose weight. Make sure your planning your meals and not snacking. You don’t want to fall into bad habits. Try to stick with protein, veggies and fruit. Protein always first. 3 meals a day and 2 snacks. Plenty of water or non caloric drinks throughout the day. I also was prescribed antacid (Nexium, Prilosec or Prevacid) twice a day for a month and I took it for an additional 3 months. I also take tums as needed. Hope your feeling better

I survived the night. Still feeling over full.
I had my shake for breakfast and boy did it feel much better.
I tried a little sweet potato mashed but only ate a couple of teaspoons.
Now having my second shake. Water during the day. That's all I've been able to have.
Hoping that's enough. Thanks for the tea advice, I'll give it a go.

Do you know those little medicine cups?
    About 15 ml's?
That is the size of you stomach right now.
It is still swollen and healing.
Give it the time it needs and don't overdo it.
English is not my first language anymore, so I may and do make mistakes in my spelling, or say things oddly. Please ask me, if you want any clarifications.

Oh the thing we have to learn the hard way on this journey. I remember several times in the early months of eating "too much" (I quoted this because the irony is that it was like 3 tablespoons. LOL.) or too fast. It was so uncomfortable and I would lay there moaning saying never again!! My poor husband was always like, "Are you ok?" Yes dear....I just did what I know I am not supposed to do and am paying for it. But you eventually learn. The good thing about that experience is it helps you learn to focus on exactly what you are putting in your mouth. Hang in there. Life does eventually get more normalized with eating and all.

It's a horrible feeling. I'm constipated also, so I might take something to ease the
    blocked up feeling.
Thank you for all your great suggestions and I realise it's different trying to eat.
I'll take it easy today and try to relax and just drink liquids today.

Jean, try taking some movical for the constipation, you can take 3 sachets a day (in fact if someone is super blocked we put 8 sachets in a litre of water) but try 3 a day. You will feel awful if you are constipated. Also make sure you're taking your antacid. Take it easy today and look after yourself. I know this has been tough for you lately and I'm sending you lots of love. You're going to get there xxxx
