Default stalled on the side of the road (checking in)

    Hello all!
My weight loss car is stalled on the side of the road...oh hell...it has a flat. I am watching all of the other lovely cars whiz by me on the WLS highway and I'm trying to flag down triple A. I'm guessing I may be out of gas or running low. I am eating about 400 cals a day on the high side and working on protein and water intake. I am back to working both jobs so basic maintenance may be an issue. just wanted to let you know I'm still here.
I am happy for all of you who are doing well. I love reading about your progress. Just wave to me as you pass by.

    Gege

Well I've pulled off into the parking lot and am considering a monthly pass. Went to a therapist who works with my surgeon this week and she gave me some good advice:
    1. This isn't a diet so stop thinking that way. Look at the scale once a week instead of every day. (I'm trying!)
    2. Celebrate the NSVs: zippers zipping easily, clothes starting to get a little baggy, etc. more than the number on the scale.
    3. Believe that as long as you're doing the "right" things (protein, water, etc.) you will be successful. (I'm trying!)

Can't believe you have the energy to work 2 jobs on 400 calories/day!

Sounds to me like you are not eating enough. Are you getting in your minimum protein and liquids? I too am surprised you have any energy on that little bit of calories. I know at 4 weeks I was cleared for some "real" food (week 3 was mushy food) but I wish I could remember what exactly was on my list.

We refuse to pass you by, sorry! You've got this!

You are both almost 4 weeks out?
Both just recently started eating solid foods?
Well, there you go... it happens to the most of us.
    Don't worry, you'll be fine!
Just do the best you can and you will pass this stall.
Protein and fluids, concentrate on that and the scale will move again!
English is not my first language anymore, so I may and do make mistakes in my spelling, or say things oddly. Please ask me, if you want any clarifications.

My thinking is the week 3 stall, which is not a real stall but just your body reconfiguring. Everytime my weight loss paused it was because my body was in starvation mode. Increase your protein intake and get to exercising. I remember weeks 3-5, i was completely drained and so lethargic. Once i started on real foods and proteins my energy returned but so did the weight loss. Stick to your doctors plan and get more protein, your body is screaming for it - just listen.

    Hey Gege!
I found it helps to only check the scale once a week. Sometimes water, hormones, can cause weight loss stalls or gains. I was getting so upset looking at the scale, so I’m going by clothing size and measurements. It could be once you start getting more calories you’ll start losing again.

I slowed a bit too but concentrating on the protein and water like the good people above said :-) It will be fine for all of us... I'm convinced :-)

Definitely sounds like you are not eating enough. Also, you could be in your first stall. Keep following the program and try to up your calories. It will get moving again. Just make sure you are eating protein. Avoid carbs. Good luck.

Sounds like all the other people on here have gone through the stall stage.
I think I'll hide my scales. It was depressing before the sleeve, I don't want it to be same.
Hoping you get a jump start soon.

Thank you. I know that I do need to eat more but I am not able. I am just doing the best I can. I can only eat very small amounts and then I don't want to eat again for a long time. I'm hoping this is very normal in the beginning. I am going to join a gym today. Maybe that will get things moving. Thanks for pulling over.

    Hi Ghost Ryder,
Great advice. I am not able to eat very much at this time. I eat what I can but I've really been working on my "full" signal. I would rather under eat than have pain. I am hoping this is just an adjustment too. Every "expert" says weight loss happens when calories in are less than calories expended. SO not true! especially for us. Patience..... I am asking for patience for Christmas. Thanks again!

    Hi Ann2,
I just had to say that your comment reminds me of a basic life principle. Do what you can and as they say in Frozen-Let it go! Very comforting to remember I have no control over the result only over my actions. Many thanks.
