    Default 1 Month Post-Op

Well!!! One month to the day of my life changing VSG and I am feeling great!! I am down 31 lbs since my day of surgery and 84 lbs overall!!! YEAHHHHH! I simply love the fact that, through this tool, I have reclaimed my life and have become part of my family again!! I hate saying anything, because I know there are people on here that have had their struggles with things, but for me, so far, things have gone very well. I did see a slow down during the past week. I could feel it, but after reading all of your very informative posts, I understand this is normal so I am not stressing about it. I will just keep plugging on and meeting my protein and water goals daily and I know things will keep progressing.

Not much else to say this time, but I am sure I will have more as I go on. Thanks so much for those that have expressed support. It means more than you can imagine!!

Way to go Hookydad! Don't feel bad about everything going so well. That is what we want for our fellow sleevers. Happy, happy, happy for you! I was blessed as well. Only issue was constipation for 10 months but after that passed I felt like a million bucks. I had a relatively easy recovery and easy hitting my goal and then some. You are doing fabulous! Do not apologize! YAY!!! Doing a happy dance with you!

Thanks for the post. Seems like my recovery is following your path. I was having a little difficulty with constipation prior to the surgery as I was already introduced to the High Protein low Carb lifestyle in preparation for the procedure. Now that I have switched to normal foods, back came the problem and worse. Any advise on how to deal with it? I already take Miralax once a day per doctors order. Anything else I can do?

    Thanks!

    Thanks!
I had to use fleet suppositories. That was the only thing that helped. No matter how many other types of stool helpers I tried. I did use enemas in the beginning before I found the suppositories. I would use about 1/3rd of one. It was not comfortable, though. I can tell you that the suppositories are much more gentle. At 10 months I started adding a scoop of collagen powder to my coffee for the benefits it provides to skin appearance. (You know droopy skin and all.) I think possibly that the collagen helped get things moving. I saw a lot of people online saying it gave them diarrhea. So maybe for me being constipated it just made me regular. LOL. Either way....it made life so much better!!!
